Chapter 33

Chapter 33

Clara rushed to the police station to find Sasha sitting in the interrogation room with handcuffsaround her wrists. Despite the situation, Sasha’s expression was cool and collected as she spoke tothe officer across from her, vigorously defending herself without a hint of fear.

Clara strode over and asked politely, “Hello, officer. I’m her friend. What’s going on here?”

Before the officer could respond, Sasha interjected, “After you vanished yesterday, Anders went toget his dad to help you out, leaving me all by myself. I figured you must’ve gone to confront thatjerk, feeling upset and heading to a bar to drown your sorrows.”

“By chance, I saw Heidi there too, gloating and gossiping about Mr. Casey. You should’ve seen thesmug look on her face. I couldn’t hold back and I gave her a piece of my mind. I only threw somewords her way, but this morning, they dragged me here, claiming Heidi’s car got smashed andsuspecting I’m to blame. No matter how much I explained, they just wouldn’t listen.”

At the mention of Heidi, Clara clenched her fists tightly. She didn’t need to guess. This was typicalof Heidi’s tactics, the same kind she had used against Clara.

Clara’s eyes, which should have been beautiful, turned icy in an instant. Her voice lost all thewarmth it had when she first arrived. “Do you have any evidence that my friend did

this?”

“We found one of your friend’s earrings by Heidi’s car, matching the one she’s wearing. There’s alsoa witness, that woman over there. She claims she saw Sasha smashing the

car with her own eyes.” novelbin

Clara’s gaze shot towards the woman. With just a glance, Clara felt her whole body freeze. Thewoman’s face had aged, but Clara recognized her instantly. A cold sweat broke out on Clara’s backas she clenched her fists tighter. Her eyes darkened as she glared at the

woman.

Sasha, sensing something was off, grabbed Clara’s hand and asked, “Clara, do you know her?”

Snapped out of her shock, Clara shook her head with a quivering voice, “No, I don’t.”

“That’s a relief. I won’t let Hejdi get away with this. It wasn’t enough for her to bully you, now shedares to mess with me? I’ll see to it that she’s ruined. And that woman, I’ll sue

her too.”

Just as Sasha finished speaking, Heidi’s voice could be heard from outside. “Ian, I honestly didn’tknow Ms. Sasha was Ms. Clara’s friend. If I had known, none of this would’ve happened. It’s just acar worth a bit over a million, no big deal. I’ll just have

daddy buy me another one. Let’s not make Ms. Clara feel uncomfortable. Let’s just drop the wholething, I withdraw my complaint.”

Clara turned to see lan approaching, dressed head to toe in somber black, his expression as chillyas the grave. Heidi was at his side, clutching at his sleeve.

Seeing this scene again, Clara thought she’d feel the heartache of the past, but now, she feltnothing at all.

Clara’s face remained impassive as they walked over. Sasha, on the other hand, was livid, glaringat lan and cursing, “You bastard! You cheated on my friend. Damn you! I hope your dick will neverget hard!”

lan’s eyes scanned Clara, as if searching for some sign of the emotion he desired, but even after along while, he saw nothing of the sort.

Suddenly feeling a tightness in his chest, he leaned over and whispered into Clara’s ear. “Why don’tyou tell her if my dick is hard or not?”
