Chapter 993

Sophia paused and turned to look at Matilda. "What's wrong? Has the news spread out there?"

Matilda nodded and sighed. "The rumors out there are so messy that we don’t know which one is true.Everyone is merely guessing. It may take a while before the false news goes away and the truth isrevealed."

Sophia nodded. After all, she didn't know much, so she couldn't comment on it. Then, she turnedaround and went to the dining hall, but she kept her ears open as she listened to the talking outside.

Sighing, Old Mrs. Constance said, "Things are really chaotic at the Bailey Family recently."

Matilda said, "Mrs. Bailey has already left. She was sent away by Isabelle. I guess she has not yetrecovered from the grief of losing her son."

Old Mrs. Constance pursed her lips for a moment. "This grief will accompany her all her life. How couldshe recover from losing her child at such an age? Nobody can bear this shock."

Narrowing her eyes, Sophia ate her meal quickly, and then came out of the dining hall.

By then, Matilda and Old Mrs. Constance had changed the subject, and they were talking about Matildaand William. The two were looking for a suitable time to remarry, and they had decided to live atMatilda’s place for now. Matilda said that after remarrying William, she still wanted to temporarily keepher current life. Instead of making it public knowledge, she wanted to just casually inform somerelatives and friends about the remarriage.

At this, Matilda also briefly mentioned Yolanda. She said that she had used William’s phone to post tosocial media. Then, after she talked with William, she deleted Yolanda from William’s contact list. As aresult, Yolanda called the next day to ask William why.

As she talked about that, Matilda laughed, looking a little helpless. "I was the one who answered thephone, and the entire conversation was between me and Yolanda."

Matilda was pretty straightforward about it. At that time, she told Yolanda that she was the one whodeleted it and said that she didn't want Yolanda and William to have any contact in the future. Yolandawas good at adapting to any situation thrown at her, so she kept explaining that she and William had noromance going on between them. Also, she said that she hoped Matilda wouldn’t mind about theirfriendship.

Matilda naturally believed in William. So, she said very clearly to Yolanda about how William hadpromised her that he had nothing to do with Yolanda. She also believed that the two of them did nothave that kind of relationship. But personally, she didn't want another woman to meddle from time totime in her relationship with William, and she hoped that William did not have any random womanaround him as well. Furthermore, she hoped that Yolanda could understand that her existence hadcaused trouble to the couple, and this trouble was not only felt by Matilda alone, as William alsounderstood the issue.

At that time, Matilda made things clear on the phone. She said, "Yolanda, if William didn’t give mepermission, I would not be able to delete you from his contact list, so you should be aware of William’sattitude and your current situation."

In the adult world, there was no need to be so transparent about one’s intentions.

Everyone had their own ability to understand things left unsaid. One person only had to give slight hintsfor the other to catch the underlying meanings. novelbin

Yolanda didn't speak for a long time, but since Matilda wanted to tell her everything in one go, she wasnot in a hurry to hang up. Finally, Yolanda said that William was actually interested in her before.

Matilda didn't understand why she said that, but she laughed at that time and said that she wasn’t sureabout that, since William was only interested in her now. If Yolanda felt that it would make herself feelbetter if she thought that William was interested in her before, then so be it. But in order to feel better,Matilda would also maintain that William had never considered anyone else other than her.
