Chapter 695

Belinda told her what she should be looking out for in her first trimester and what she shouldn’t do.Sophia nodded but said nothing, while John made a note of everything. He even asked Belinda aboutways to reduce the effects of morning sickness. “Sophia’s suffering from it.”

Belinda told him a few fruits that could lessen the symptom, but it was impossible to remove it. “Everypregnant woman has to go through this. It’s their trial.”

John made a clear note of everything, and Sophia looked at him. If it weren’t for what he did, Johnwould have been a good husband and father. But he’s just a shameless man now. And how dare hetrick me. The thought of that angered her.

Belinda stayed until late at night before leaving. Matilda had retired for the night, so she didn’t send heroff. Sophia and John stood outside the door and saw Belinda off. After she got into the car, Belindarolled the window down and sighed. “Is your mother blaming us for what happened?”

John was surprised she’d ask that, but then he smiled. “No. She doesn’t obsess over every little thingnow, so she isn’t blaming anyone for what happened. It’s just that she’s different, so you’ll have to getused to it.” novelbin

Belinda looked up at the second floor. “It’s great your mother has changed. She’s a lot more maturethan she was.”

John nodded. “Yes. She’s getting along well with Sophia. I guess she has really changed.” William wentinto the driver’s seat and said nothing. John only gave him a glance before looking away.

Belinda nodded. “Alright. It’s getting late now, and you two should be getting some sleep. Run along

now. We’ll be leaving.” William then drove away, and Belinda leaned against the seat. “Matilda’schanged a lot. What did you two talk about earlier?”

William pursed his lips. “Nothing much, just some small talk.”

Now that he thought about it, they didn’t say anything more than the mundanity of life, though he couldsee that Matilda had changed drastically. Before this, she kept calling him to ask him out for dinner, butevery time she did, she made it sound like a command, so he refused. However, she stopped callinghim lately, and it was as if she vanished.

He even told Yolanda about this a few days ago, to which she smiled and replied, “Give it time. Maybeshe’ll get back to her old tricks.” He believed that was the case, too, but even after a few days ofwaiting, she didn’t call him. William felt relieved in the beginning, but after seeing Matilda, he didn’tknow what he should feel.

Belinda looked outside into the night. “Matilda’s getting along well with Sophia. I won’t have to worryabout her now.” Then she let out a sigh. “Even though Sophia’s adamant on not remarrying now, I thinkJohn will change her mind eventually.” Following that, she looked at William from the corner of her eye.“So now all I have to worry about is you. How is it going between you and that Yolanda girl?”

Hearing that, William smiled. “You think too much, Mom. Yolanda and I are just friends. I don’t mind it ifeveryone else thinks we’re a couple, but not if it’s you.”

Belinda grunted. “I don’t think you two are a couple. I’m saying that if you think Yolanda’s nice, then gofor it. I won’t stop you. You’re an adult now, so you can think for yourself.”

William sighed. “Between Yolanda and me, there’s nothing—”
