Chapter 313

After a while, John slowly said in a low voice, almost a whisper, “Perhaps I’m out of my mind.” novelbin

The music beside them was too loud so Logan didn’t hear him clearly. It was just the two of them, hence John and Logan didn’t book a room because it would be too quiet. Therefore, they continued tosit there and chat. Logan was never one to let the atmosphere cool down so he brought up all kinds oftopics. On the contrary, John wasn’t the talkative type, so he would normally listen to Logan.

Time passed as they chatted and drank, and it was Logan who ended up being the first to collapse. Hecouldn’t even speak clearly and he blacked out in the midst of speaking. Right at that moment, John felta hand touching his shoulder. He turned around to stare at the person before smiling. It was a beautifulwoman; one who was even more appealing than Sophia.

Seeing his smile, that woman smiled as well. “Hey handsome. How boring it is for two men to drinkalone.”

John straightened and replied to the beauty, “Thankfully, you’re here.” In the past, other than theoccasional remarks he made when in bed with Sophia, he had never said such frivolous comments.John knew that he was indeed not in the right state of mind today. These unreasonable thoughts drovehim crazy and out of control. The woman gave him a coquettish smile and leaned in. Closing his eyes,John felt thankful that she wasn’t wearing any pungent perfume.

Meanwhile, Logan was bent over the bar, mumbling. He couldn’t stop blabbering even when he wasdrunk. That woman’s hand was still on John’s shoulder, slowly caressing him. “Your friend seemsdrunk.”

John merely hummed in response. After pondering, that woman asked again, “Do you have otherfriends to take him away or do you want to leave him here?”

John raised his eyebrows, pretending that he didn’t understand her. Then, the woman giggled whileleaning her body toward John’s arm. “Shall we go somewhere else?”The woman’s breath held a hint ofalcohol and her charming eyes stared straight at John’s lips. Her intentions were extremely obvious.

After looking at her expressionlessly for a beat, John replied, “Alright.”

It was midnight when Sophia suddenly woke up from her sleep and turned to her other side. Sheinitially wanted to go to the window and check to see if John’s car was downstairs. However, shequickly suppressed that thought as soon as it popped up. So what if he was home or not? Anyway, shedidn’t want to see him now.

Lying with her back facing the window, Sophia was wide awake. Since things had taken a turn for theworst between John and her, they had no choice but to announce it to the public. But what reasonshould they come up with? She definitely wouldn’t want to say that she had an extramarital affair. Sheonly suggested that to John out of anger. Anyway, she wouldn’t ruin her own reputation. Even so, shecouldn’t say that John had an affair either because it wasn’t the truth. But what reason should they giveother than having an affair? Not long ago, she and John had just displayed how much they loved eachother. If they turned around and said that they were simply not compatible, it would obviously sound far-fetched.

Sophia’s hair almost turned white from thinking but she still couldn’t come up with a great explanation. That night, she couldn’t sleep at all. Although she skipped dinner and lost her appetite due to her badmood, her stomach still couldn’t take it. Therefore, Sophia got up and cleaned herself up before goingdownstairs. As expected, there was no sight of John’s car in the yard, which meant that he had gone

out to have fun for the whole night. Well, this might work. She hoped that he would be spotted when hebooked a room with someone. In that case, they would have a reason for the divorce.

Sophia then leisurely prepared breakfast. But even after breakfast, John still hadn’t come home.
