Chapter 2092

The girl hummed in response and sat still by the side. On the other hand, her assistant sorted out themakeup kit and other such things before staking out a seat as well.

From the looks of it, the assistant and the girl weren't on close terms at all. They hardly spoke a word toeach other, which could mean that their relationship was strictly business.

Cindy went on to scroll through her phone, and the girl fished hers out as well. No conversation wasmade, and the lounge was silent for a while.

Valerie's company had not tried to nip the rumors in the bud, and the public took their lack of bothconfirmation and denial as proof of their stance on the matter. Most companies would come up with astatement as soon as rumors started circulating, but silence, more often than not, conveyed theiradmission.

Cindy was rather happy about this, and she pulled up the guy's information to read through it in earnestonce again.

The guy was practically an unknown character, and to some extent, he might be even consideredbottom-tier in the industry. That said, the content he had posted on his social media account thus farbelied his cheerful disposition, and he didn't seem to have a bad reputation.

The media had dug up some stuff about him, and there was nothing significant other than the fact thathe was a minor celebrity.

All in all, to have a career in the entertainment industry that was not littered with bad press andscandals was good enough.

Besides, Valerie probably had her reasons that explained her feelings for this guy.

Presently, Cindy browsed through all the latest trending news and finally kept her phone.

Ian had not yet returned from his talk with Hannah, although Cindy wasn't sure what that was about.

It was only after leaving the company and building a new life of her own that Cindy suddenly realizedthe appeal of a normal day job. novelbin

If she had to compare, she would much prefer a nine-to-five job. She could get off work as soon as shewas done with her tasks, and she had the rest of the day to herself to do whatever she liked. Moreimportantly, she didn't have to worry about being recognized when she got off work, and her everymove would not be scrutinized so heavily that it might make or break her future promotions and career.

Cindy stayed in the lounge for a while, but the silence eventually got on her nerves and made herrestless. As such, she stood up and walked out.

There weren't a lot of people out in the hallway as she slowly made her way down it. There was aboard where the company had pinned up several pictures of the artists they represented, and it wassort of their way of promoting the top-tier artists, Ian being one of them. Cindy walked up to the boardand stood next to it as she scanned the pictures.

She remembered that Ian's picture was not the one on the board right now, and she wondered whenthe company had decided to change it.

In actuality, Ian didn't have many promotional pictures. He didn't like having his pictures taken, and

most times on the job, he was only obliging for the sake of his work. If one had to be brutally honest, hewasn't particularly responsible either, and if this were a normal nine-to-five job, he would be the laziestemployee of the bunch.

At the thought of this, Cindy laughed. She supposed it was a good thing that Ian had celebrity statuswhich allowed him to do as he pleased.

She was still standing next to the board when someone came up to her suddenly. Cindy quickly turnedto see who it was, only to realize that it was a senior in the company. Moreover, her senior was a rathercapable one at that. She nodded hastily in acknowledgment as she greeted, "Hello."

The senior was a man, and he was standing next to her as he assessed Ian's picture on the board. Hehummed and said, "I heard you found work in another company."

She smiled ruefully and said, "I did, and I'm working a nine-to-five job now."

He nodded before turning to look at her. "That's good, though I still think it's a shame that you left. I toldHannah that I had planned on bringing you in as an employee under me, but I guess I'm too late tooffer you that option, huh?"

Cindy was a little stunned. In all frankness, she had never spoken to this senior before, and they werepractically strangers before today.

Perhaps sensing her astonishment, the man chuckled and explained, "I remember you because youmade an impression, but you might have no recollection of me whatsoever."

She raised a brow when she heard this. "That much is true. After all, being forgetful is my besetting

sin." She was saying this to keep the conversation between them going, for she wanted to know justwhat impression she had given him.
