Chapter 1957

Gary sighed. “A common misconception. I don’t really have any girlfriends.” A moment later, he added,“I’m too busy to handle a relationship, so I’d rather not start one. It’s called being responsible.”

“I see,” Cindy replied, but she didn’t know what else to say.

Gary looked at her for a while, then he looked away. “That’s why I envy Ian sometimes.”

Cindy blinked. She hesitated for a moment and decided not to reply to that. She knew she might havemisunderstood him, but she wanted to end the topic right away.

Gary didn’t say anything else. When the food came, they dug in, and after that, he sent her back to thecompany. Just like how he did earlier, he parked his car a bit further away from the entrance.

After she got out, she turned around and waved to Gary. “Drive safely.”

Gary smiled. “Okay.”

She saw him off before she went into the company, and it was nearly time to work. The otheremployees were already there when she came back, though Cindy was surprised that Serena wasthere as well. She had some design tasks, and she gave them to some of the apprentices.

Cindy went back to her place and took her earlier draft out for some checking. She then put it aside andchose another theme to work on. novelbin

After Serena handed the apprentices the task, she told them what to look out for, then she looked atCindy for a moment. There were a lot of employees in the company who landed a job through theirconnections, but Cindy was different. She seemed to be oblivious to the fact that someone helped herout.

Serena only looked at her for a few silent moments before she left, but because of that, everyone in theoffice started whispering among themselves again.

Cindy didn’t notice Serena looking at her, but the other employees thought that Serena was telling herthat they would meet up in private again for another lesson.

Since Cindy wasn’t saying anything, the employees got bolder and started to talk loudly. Obviously, they wanted Cindy to hear them.

Cindy listened to them for a moment, then she went back to work. She finished another draft, and itwent a lot smoother than before. Can’t put this off for too long, or I’ll be at a loss when I pick it up again. After going through some training for the last two days, inspiration was starting to flow smoother for her.

She went to Serena’s office and placed the finished draft on her desk. Serena was doing her work aswell, so they didn’t even talk. However, when Cindy came back, the other employees said that Serenaand Cindy must have talked in private.

Honestly, are they stupid? I haven’t been in Serena’s office for half a minute. How much can she eventeach me in that amount of time? I just don’t understand how they can be this ignorant.

Cindy was reminded of the woman she met during lunch the other day, and she thought of what thewoman told her. She’s a really brave person. She doesn’t care about what everyone thinks of her.

Cindy was really impressed. She thought the woman had a point, and when she thought about thethings she said, she cheered up again.

When it was almost time to get off work, Cindy took her phone out, but there wasn’t even a call or a textfrom Ian. Naturally, she was disappointed, but she could understand why. Ian must be busy. Since hewas a newbie who never had formal training, she wondered if the director would scold him because ofhis amateur acting. Cindy wiped her face and packed her stuff up, but she waited until her colleagueswere all gone before she left.
