Chapter 1929

He probably didn’t even tell Hannah about it, Cindy thought. I wonder if Hannah will get mad when shedoesn’t manage to contact Ian.

“Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. I’ve handled everything that needs to be handled at the company, and there won’t be anything else to do. We can go over to yours without having to worry aboutanything,” Ian uttered.

Cindy wasn’t sure if Ian was being genuine, but she decided that she could no longer be botheredsince they had come to that point. Instead, she hurried to get her luggages before packing up for bothherself and Ian. Every time Cindy went on a trip, she felt the need to free out an ample amount of timejust to prepare and pack. However, once she was done packing their clothes for this trip, she realizedthat there wasn’t much else she had to do.

Both of them could just head out any time now. Before they left, Cindy prepared a meal and ate withIan before she cleaned the house. It seems like there won’t be an issue with us being gone for a fewdays, she figured.

Once it was about time for their flight, they hailed a cab and headed to the airport. Cindy gave Hazel acall after they passed the security check, and she told Hazel that she and Ian would be home that nightitself. Hazel was shocked to hear this—Cindy had only called her to talk about this matter one day ago,and they were taking the trip home to visit her the very next day. Aren’t things happening a little toosoon? Well, I can’t tell them not to come since they’re already at the airport.

“What’s the rush?” Hazel grumbled while on the call with Cindy.

Cindy felt the urge to laugh. “Ian was the one who booked the tickets. It is rather rushed, but we don’thave a choice. He’s only free for the next few days.”

Hazel sighed. “Okay, I got it. Call me when you guys have arrived. I’ll prepare dinner for everyone,” shesaid before ending the call.

After slipping her phone into the pocket, Cindy turned to look at Ian. “It seems like you didn’t justsurprise me; you also surprised my mom.”

Ian, too, felt the urge to laugh after thinking about the situation for a while. “Everything does seem alittle rushed, doesn’t it?” He held Cindy’s hand as he continued talking. “I can’t help it. I just can’t waitany longer.” He was being honest—he was too eager to take a look at the place where Cindy grew up,and he genuinely wanted to solidify his relationship with Cindy.

There were no issues on his end, as Aurora was fine with the relationship. So, the Selby Family wasthe determining factor at that point. Once they gave him the green light, he would be able to arrange fortheir engagement. Ian felt a surge of excitement whenever he thought about their engagement. Hedeeply longed to have a family, and he wanted to have actual family members by his side all the time.

Although he was staying in the same house as Cindy, their positions in each others’ lives didn’t feel assolid until they got engaged. Yulia was still pining for Ian, while Gary was still trying to go after Cindy.Yulia probably has the guts to pull all these sneaky tricks on us because she thinks that Cindy and Iaren’t legally together.

Apart from this engagement, Ian had some other plans in mind. He intended to leave the entertainmentindustry soon because he would be able to do a lot of things he couldn’t do then. Marriage was apriority in his life, and he placed it above everything else. However, Cindy was oblivious to all the

thoughts Ian had, and she led them to board the plane once the gates were opened.

The trip took about three hours, so Cindy leaned against her seat and took a nap once she boarded theplane. Ian got the air stewardess to give Cindy a blanket, but he didn’t take a nap as he was tooexcited. The flight landed smoothly, but it was still a rather tiring experience to remain seated in thesame spot for more than three hours.

By the time the plane landed, the skies had turned dark. Both of them packed light—they only hadthree days’ worth of clothes in their luggages. Once they got out of the airport, they took a cab directlyto Cindy’s place. novelbin

Cindy’s house was situated in a suburban area, where most families were at home watching the TV atthat hour.
