Chapter 1691

Logan had never been one to give sage advice to another. He was the life of the party, but impartingwisdom and running intervention were never his strong suit. For him to come up with all these musthave been an inordinately difficult feat.

Ian raised the cup and took a sip of his tea, then decidedly changed the subject by asking, “So whenare you going home? Your wife can’t just lock you out of the house and have you wandering aroundlike this all day, can she?”

In truth, Logan had no idea when he should be getting home either. Lola’s hostility toward him wasgrowing more aggressive each day, and she practically had him wandering around like a vagabondever since he came home after having a meal at the Constance Residence the last time.

She was always nagging about how he never took anything seriously. If John could take babysittingseriously, then by the transitive property, Logan thought staying at home with Lola would be a show ofresponsibility as well.

Presently, he opened and closed his mouth as he ransacked his mind for an answer. “You know what? Ithink I’ll call her later. I don’t know if she’ll even let me in the door, but I know I can’t just crash heretonight.”

Upon hearing this, Cindy couldn’t hide her smile. She had seen the way John and Sophia interacted, and though he came from the powerful Constance Family, it was clear to see that Sophia was the onewho wore the pants in their relationship.

All things considered, Logan and Lola’s relationship mirrored John and Sophia’s.

At the thought of this, Cindy cast Ian a curious sideways glance. I wonder how he’ll turn out aftermarriage, though judging from his circle of friends, I think he’d make a good husband.

The entertainment industry was rife with glamor and scandal, and Cindy wondered idly if anyone couldbe so lucky as to end up with Ian, who had never been tainted by the dark side of the industry.

They sat for a while before Logan became antsy and insisted on bringing Cindy upstairs, where he kepthis ‘precious’ toy—a 3D projection device.

Cindy glanced over at Ian, who jerked his chin, indicating that she should follow Logan. “Go up andtake a gander at the thing, or he might just lose sleep over your rejection. It’s his solemn duty to showeveryone his precious acquisition, after all.”

She let out a good-natured laugh and rose to follow Logan up the staircase.

He led her into his personal 3D projection room and drew the curtains closed, then switched on thedevice. novelbin

At that moment, Cindy was shocked by the scene that appeared before her, for several people hadmaterialized in the dimness of the room.

Naturally, these figures were projections and nothing more, but they looked just like the real thing.

Cindy blinked in surprise at the 3D projections of Lola, Sophia, John, and finally, Ian.

Meanwhile, Logan was chuckling proudly on one side of the room as he teased, “Surprised, aren’t you?

What do you think of this? I believe hyper-realistic is a fitting term, don’t you?”

She nodded slowly, still gaping at the projections. “It sure is.” As she said this, she hesitantly walked upto the holograms and circled them, appraising the details.

It would make sense that only the rich could afford such sophisticated toys; common folk like her couldnever hope to see stuff like this, let alone own it.

She came to a stop next to Ian’s projection and stared at it briefly, stunned by its intricacy. It was almostas if she was standing next to the man himself.

Logan sauntered over. “Ian didn’t want me to make a projection of him, but I wore him down with myinsistence at the end and came up with this. I mean, I don’t get why he has to be so anal about it wheneveryone has already given me the green light.” He paused in thought, then flashed Cindy a grin as heoffered, “Hey, if I have the time, I’d make one of you too.”

He pointed at John and Sophia’s projections, then at Lola’s and his own. “See, all of us are here, evenIan. When yours is done, the whole group will be complete.”

The offer left Cindy a little speechless. She wasn’t sure when she and Ian would officially declare theirbreak-up, but the imminence of it meant that she might never have her hologram made and join theothers’ in this room.

Logan seized her dazed moment and leaned closer to her, feigning innocence as he asked, “Speakingof which, when are you and Ian going to settle down for good? Marriage aside, have you guys at leasttalked about getting engaged?”

She froze and parted her lips to say something, but words deserted her. She wasn’t even sure if Loganknew about the truth of her relationship with Ian, so she quickly masked her hesitation with a nervouschuckle. “Well, I mean, we’re not in a rush. His career is still taking off, and he should focus on it fornow.”
