Chapter 1685

“Okay. Just let me know what his room number is. You don’t have to be around if you’re busy with yourwork,” Ian said. Sean ended the call after he told Ian the room number. Ian had finished his cigarettejust then, so he turned around and flicked the cigarette butt into the bin before walking home.

By then, Aurora and Cindy had already finished their breakfast. Cindy had returned to the room whileAurora sat on the couch. When Aurora saw Ian walking in, she addressed him in a hushed tone. “Whyare you only back now? What were you doing outside?”

Ian strode directly toward the dining table. “Nothing much. I gave Sean a call, and he said that we couldgo to the hospital at noon. I don’t think you’d be interested in the visit, would you?” novelbin

Aurora flicked through the television channels as she spoke. “I’m not going to visit him if he’s healthyand well. You can go over and tell me his condition when you’re back. I’ll decide if I want to visit himafter that.” She stubbornly desired a chance to show off in front of Bryce.

Ian merely nodded before he sat down and finished the rest of the food on the table. His room doorwas shut, so he knew Cindy was in the room. They had woken up a little later than usual today, so itwas about time for Ian to leave the house once he was done with breakfast. He hastily tidied the tablebefore he hurried over to his room.

When he pushed the door open, he found Cindy standing by the window and looking out. She jumpedin surprise, but Ian didn’t bother explaining himself. He merely grabbed himself a change of clothes. However, his footsteps came to a halt right before he stepped out of the room. “Why don’t you comewith me?” he said as he turned to look at Cindy.

She took longer than usual to respond to him. “W-What? Where are we going?”

“I’m going to visit Old Mr. Morgan at the hospital,” Ian replied. He didn’t even refer to the old man as hisfather. Initially, Ian had decided to pay the man a visit without having Cindy come along with him. Hefigured that he would bring Cindy over the next time if the company needed any materials to come upwith articles. However, right before he stepped out of the room, he felt a sudden urge to change hismind.

Cindy was shocked when she found out that Ian was going to visit his father. “Are you going to visit himtoday?”

“Yeah. Sean called me earlier, and he said that there’s a visiting slot at noon. We should leave now ifwe’re going to visit,” Ian explained.

Cindy knew what the company would want them to do—they would want her to go along with Ian.Therefore, she was able to make a decision without considering the awkward tension between them.“You can go get changed, and I’ll get changed here. We can go out after that.”

Ian walked out and shut the door to get changed in the washroom. He only had to wait for a whilebefore Cindy walked out of his room in a fresh set of clothes. Aurora could tell what they were about todo when she saw how they were dressed. “Cindy, please help me check if the old man’s well and aliveor weak and dying. Tell me his condition when you’re back,” Aurora ordered.

Initially, Cindy had felt rather nervous about visiting Ian’s father at the hospital. However, she cracked alaugh once she heard what Aurora said. “Alright, alright. I’ll record a video of him and show it to youwhen I’m back.”

“Alright. That’s perfect. You know what? You should start recording from the moment you enter theward, and you should record the entire visit,” Aurora added.

Cindy responded in a serious manner. “Alright, I got it. Don’t worry!” With that said, she headed out withIan. Neither of them spoke to the other as they made their way down. It wasn’t just Cindy who wasspeechless—Ian was also at a loss for words.

When they walked out of their building, Ian twisted his head to glance at the gazebo. Peter was nolonger there. That guy’s pretty hilarious. I can’t believe he confessed to Cindy after meeting her andplaying badminton with her a few times. How could love be so easy for him?

Cindy didn’t bother to look in the direction of the gazebo, and her eyes were fixed on the ground all theway as she followed Ian to the parking lot. Ian drove them to the hospital. Although they didn’t talkalong the way, the atmosphere seemed less awkward than before.
