Chapter 1674

Cindy opened one of the bottles and took a few sips of the drink before she turned back to the game.Aurora called me earlier, and I’m assuming that Ian had been beside her. If that’s the case, why did hecome looking for me? Did he come because he was bored? Or did he come because he was worriedabout me? She let out a long sigh. She couldn’t read his mind at all.

After standing around the bench for a while, Cindy fished her phone out to find a text from Aurora. ‘Ianleft the house. Is he with you now?’ the text said. Cindy hastily replied to tell Aurora that Ian wasplaying badminton at the park. Just a few seconds later, Cindy received a call from Aurora.

“Is he with you right now?” Aurora couldn’t conceal the happiness in her voice.

“He just got here a while ago,” Cindy replied with a nod.

Aurora chuckled at this. “After I called you earlier, I told him that you were playing badminton with someother boy. He couldn’t seem to sit still after that. He seemed a little moody at first, but he sneaked outof the house without telling me after that. I was thinking that it’s a natural act for him to go out and lookfor you. There’s no reason for him to be so secretive about it.” Her voice carried a hint of amusement.

Cindy couldn’t stop herself from glancing in Ian’s direction after she heard Aurora’s words. As shegazed at the man, Aurora continued to speak into the phone. “That guy is obviously jealous. He’s justnot admitting it!”

If Aurora had told her the same thing while they were at home, Cindy might not have believed her.Aurora often teased Cindy about her relationship with Ian, and Cindy had gotten used to it. However, something felt rather different during the phone call. As Cindy contemplated Aurora’s words, she

looked at how Peter and Ian were giving their all in the badminton match. Both of them were trying veryhard to win.

Ian had always been a more laid back and carefree person. For him to take this game so seriously…Could he really be jealous? Cindy felt her heart racing. On the surface, it might seem like he’s gettingjealous of my relationship with Peter. But! But… How could he possibly get jealous because of me? Ican’t imagine such a thing happening. I don’t even dare to hope for Ian to develop any feelings towardme. novelbin

In the end, Cindy merely let out a soft laugh, and she quickly changed the topic. “Do you want to comeout too? It must be boring to be home alone, right?”

There was still a hint of playfulness in Aurora’s tone. “No, thank you. Both of you can enjoy a date nightout tonight—I won’t be around to disturb you guys.”

After Cindy ended the call with Aurora, she turned to look in Ian’s direction. They had finally ended thematch, and they were talking to each other. Both of them seemed to have used all of their strengthearlier, but Cindy had no idea who the winner was.

She brought two bottles of drinks over and handed one to Ian. “Are you guys still playing?” It was stillearly in the evening—the park had just started to get a little livelier. However, Ian returned the racket toCindy. “Nope. I haven’t had anything to eat. Aren’t you hungry?” Only then did Cindy realize that theyhad yet to have dinner.

Throughout their conversation, Peter stood around without saying anything. Cindy felt rather sorry toleave him out of the conversation, so she turned to look at him. “Have you eaten already? You werehere earlier than I was, so I’m guessing you haven’t had anything to eat yet. Let’s go for a meal.” Peter

had gifted her a racket, so she figured that it would only be right for her to repay him by buying him ameal.

Initially, Ian had already turned to leave the park, but his movements came to a halt when he heardwhat Cindy said. He couldn’t stop himself from grinding his teeth together. They’ve already playedbadminton together, but now, she even wants to have a meal with him?

Peter took a long look at Cindy before he glanced at Ian. “Sure. I haven’t had dinner, either,” he utteredwith a nod. Ian couldn’t believe his own ears. He was tempted to let out an icy sneer, but he knew thatdoing so would make things awkward for Cindy. Therefore, he chose to turn around and walk offwithout saying anything. Cindy and Peter hurried over to pack their gym bags before they tagged alongbehind Ian.

Ian kept himself a distance away from them. His hands were in his pockets and he walked in a stiff andupright manner. Meanwhile, Cindy chit-chatted with Peter about the badminton club as they walkednext to each other. However, when she looked up to see the man walking in front of them, she couldn’tstop the thoughts that surfaced in her mind. I’ve never realized this in the past, but seeing his backnow, he seems really lonely.
