Chapter 1647

It was as if he didn’t mind what happened back then. After he said that, he turned to look at Cindy.

Cindy didn’t look at him though, and she went on with dinner. She wasn’t throwing a tantrum. Theyweren’t a couple, so there was no tantrum to throw. She simply didn’t want to talk to him.

Ian wanted to say something, but given Cindy’s attitude, he hesitated and let it slide.

They had a silent dinner, and Aurora went back to her room after that. She closed her door, which wasequivalent to her telling them that Cindy would have to share a room with Ian tonight.

The moment Aurora closed her door, the atmosphere between Ian and Cindy changed. Cindy didn’twant to say anything since nothing she said could change the atmosphere, not to mention it wouldmake things even more awkward.

But Ian said, “We should get some sleep. It’s late, and you must be exhausted from all the exercise.”

Cindy looked up at him in surprise, but Ian looked calm. After he said that to her, he went to the room.

Cindy pursed her lips and looked at Aurora’s room. She’s not letting me sleep with her. Looks like Ihave to share a room with Ian. She went into the room with him and looked at the lone bed in there. Asusual, Ian said, “You take the bed. I’ll sleep on the floor.”

Cindy didn’t want him to sleep on the floor. She hesitated for a moment before saying, “Why don’t I takethe floor? My skin’s tough.”

Ian smiled and laid out a blanket on the floor. “I can’t let a girl sleep on the floor. That’ll ruin my rep.”

Cindy looked at him quietly as he laid the blanket out and lay on the floor. She couldn’t say no now, soshe went to sleep on the bed. Once she turned the lights off, it was total darkness. She was feelingsleepy, but she couldn’t sleep no matter what.

Ian was making no sound at all, and Cindy didn’t even dare to roll over. She stayed in the sameposition the whole night and finally drifted off to sleep because she was too exhausted. Even so, it wasnot a fitful sleep. There was someone else in the room, so she didn’t even dare to roll over or make asound. Even when she was asleep, she was still careful.

Ian wasn’t sleeping too well either. Even with a layer of blanket below him, it still couldn’t stop the coldfrom seeping through. His whole body felt sore, especially his back and lower back. His shoulder wasaching as well. When dawn was nearing, he finally couldn’t take it, so he wanted to go sleep on thecouch in the living room. The couch feels better than this.

When he tried to push himself up, he slipped on the first try and fell back down. He grunted in pain, butsince Cindy was there in the room, he quickly quieted himself. Then, he slowly got up, folded theblanket, put it into the closet, and went out. novelbin

Cindy opened her eyes the moment he went out. She slept lightly, so she had woken up the momentIan made a sound, but it wasn’t until she heard the door closing did she sit up. She could imagine howawful it was to sleep on the floor the whole night. Even if the temperature didn’t drop, it’d still be a coldexperience.

Cindy felt sorry for Ian, for he had never suffered like this before. Before this, she’d always get the best

suites for him whenever they were out for work. Ian never voiced his requirements, but Cindy still gothim the best. She never expected the day where he slept on the floor would come. It didn’t sit right withher, so a while later, she got off the bed and walked to the door barefooted.

The floor was cool in the morning. Her feet alone were freezing, so she couldn’t imagine how Ian mustfeel sleeping on the floor for the whole night. Even if he had a blanket protecting him, it must havealready turned cold in the middle of the night.
