Chapter 1619

Ian knew why Aurora was putting on that look. She just wanted to guilt-trip him.

He said nothing, and a while later, Logan looked at him. “I don’t think you’d understand what I’m talkingabout. But you will once you become a father.”

Ian looked at him solemnly. Why did you say so much then? You could have kept quiet about it.

At the same time, Aurora said, “I don’t think he’ll ever have a kid. I mean, look at him. Forget about it.”

Ian said nothing since he knew his mother would have a rebuttal lying in wait.

Logan smiled. “Don’t rush it. He’s getting along with Cindy, right? It’s just a matter of time before he hasa kid of his own.”

Aurora and Ian looked uncomfortable when Cindy was brought up. With how things looked, they mightend up never talking to each other again. At this rate, they’d break up.

Aurora looked at Ian. “I just talked with Cindy. She even asked how you’re doing. I can see she caresabout you, so give her a call sometimes.”

Ian didn’t want Logan to know he was fighting with Cindy, so he nodded. “Yeah. I was drunk yesterday, but I’ll call her today.”

Logan didn’t notice anything wrong, as usual. He simply said, “I wish Cindy was here. Everyone’scurious about her.”

Aurora smiled. “It has been a while since she was home, so she couldn’t come. Her family’s worriedabout her, what with all the things that are going on on the Internet, and I can understand why. That’swhy I didn’t ask her to stay, or you guys would have met her by now.”

Logan nodded. “It might be a long time before we meet again. Ian’s probably going to be busy afterthis.”

Ian didn’t know what his schedule would be. If he could get through this crisis, he might get more jobsafter this, but the problem was Cindy. The company wanted him to make an appearance in someromance variety show, but with how things were going on between him and Cindy, that might be put onhold. novelbin

Ian stayed at the club until the afternoon before he called Sean.

Sean was at the company, and he was surprised Ian called him. “Anything?”

Ian was standing at Logan’s club’s doorstep. “I’m back. I want to meet up with you. Where you at?”

“You’re back? When?” Sean asked.

“Yesterday evening. It was late, so I didn’t call. Are you busy?” Ian asked calmly as if he wasn’t affectedby the whole crisis.

Sean gave it some thought and answered, “I’m at the company, so come over. I’m not that busy at themoment.”

“Sure.” Ian then hung up.

Logan was staying with Lola, while Aurora was sleeping in a room. After thinking it through, Ian decidedagainst asking them to go with him, so he hailed a taxi and said he wanted to go to Morgan Group. Onhis way there, Ian scrolled through his phone.

The Internet was still in shock, and lots of ‘sources’ kept churning out news. Some of them were fake, some of them were real. But since the smear campaign against him was a success, the public boughtit, and hatred against him rose. Everyone wondered who Ian crossed to cause such a large-scaleattack. Some even pitied him, though he wondered if those people were his fans.

Eventually, he arrived at Morgan Group. Ian paid the fare and got out of the car. It had been a whilesince he was here, so it felt surreal to him. It wasn’t peak hour when he arrived, so there weren’t a lot ofpeople around the company.
