Chapter 1613

Cindy didn’t want to talk to him anymore, or he might snap at her again.

But even if she was keeping quiet, Ian wouldn’t let her stay that way for too long. “Why aren’t yousaying anything? You don’t want to talk to me?”

Goddammit. Is everyone so hard to please when they’re drunk? “No. I just don’t know what I shouldsay to you.”

Ian lay back down on the bed and snorted. “I have nothing to say to you as well.”

“Why did you call me, then?” She smiled. “I’ll be hanging up now.”

“No,” Ian answered quickly. “Don’t do that. Just let the call go on.” novelbin

Cindy lay back down on her bed as well. “Are you outside?”

“Yeah. I wanted to invite you, but you left.”

Cindy knew he was drunk and might forget what he said when he woke up the next day, so she didn’tpay any attention to that. “Why should I go back with you? You think I really don’t mind about the wholesituation?”

“I know you do.” He sighed. “That’s why I didn’t ask. I didn’t know what to say.”

Cindy thought about what she should say for a moment. “What were you thinking back then? Why do

you care so much about me and Gary? And why were you so nasty? I don’t think you’re that kind ofguy.”

Ian had to think about it for a while before realizing what she was talking about. He was intoxicated, sohis reflexes were slow. “I know something’s up between you and him. Why is he so nice to you? He’snever nice to anyone.”

Cindy didn’t want to argue with him, especially not when he was drunk. She asked calmly, “Do youknow Gary well? How do you know he’s never nice to anyone, then?”

Ian paused, since he couldn’t answer that. A moment of silence later, he started being unreasonable. “Ijust know. I just know!”

Cindy pursed her lips. She didn’t know what to say to that. Reason and argument wouldn’t work, whichmeant she was out of options against him. Well, I’ll just have to endure it. Ian said nothing for a while, and Cindy thought he fell asleep, so she asked, “I’ll hang up if you’re asleep.”

Ian answered immediately, “Don’t. I’m still awake.”

It was Cindy’s first time knowing that Ian could be so stubborn when he was drunk. She felt excitedwhen she saw him calling her earlier. But when she found out he was intoxicated, all the excitementwas doused. She couldn’t do much to him when he was drunk, and she couldn’t take anything he saidseriously. In other words, this call was as good as useless. Ian would probably be horrified when hesaw this call history when he woke up the next day.

Cindy kept quiet, and Ian said nothing, but the call kept going on.

Because of this call from Ian, she was wide awake now, thus scrolled her phone to see what washappening on the internet. However, she avoided everything related to Ian. It was annoying, and it’daffect her sleep. Instead, she took a look at what was happening to Yulia. Humans were forgetfulbeings, so even though Yulia was slammed by the court of public opinion earlier, the furore had dieddown now.

After that, she took a look at Sena’s status. She released a new song, but the comments under thestatus were plain nasty. Lots of netizens were calling her a b*tch.

Humans had short term memory, but the internet didn’t. What goes online stays online, after all.

She read the news for almost half an hour, but Ian still didn’t say anything. He drank a lot of wine, andsince he was quiet, Cindy thought he was asleep. She exited the browser and went back to the call.“Are you asleep, Ian?” she asked carefully.
