Chapter 1581

Ian wasn’t one for arguments. The worst thing that he had ever done when trying to resolve a conflictwas giving a lukewarm response. “Why are you so worked up? Did I step on your toes or what?”

He was typically a calm person. After saying that, he immediately realized that he had crossed the linea little.

Cindy slowly nodded, exasperated. Fury could no longer accurately describe the expression she had.“If that’s your answer, then let’s have a good discussion about this. Let’s put aside the fact that I’mpublicly known as your girlfriend and take a few steps back. Even if I actually am your girlfriend, youcan’t tell me who I can or cannot interact with. Not to mention our relationship is purely business. I mayrely on you for my paycheck, but we are equals otherwise. Our lives are completely independent fromeach other. You cannot stick your nose too much into my affairs. Get your facts straight.”

There were plenty of celebrities at the agency who would boss their assistants around, never oncetreating their assistants as a human being. They wished for nothing else than to treat their assistants asservants, controlling them completely. Despite this, there were many assistants out there who thoughtthat this kind of relationship was normal. After all, they depended on those celebrities for theirpaycheck.

But Cindy never thought that this kind of twisted relationship was acceptable. She looked at Ian.“You’re my employer, and I’m your employee. That’s all there is to it. If we’re both upset about this, wecan certainly dissolve this arrangement.”

Upon saying that, Cindy noticed Ian frowning.

“Dissolve the arrangement?” He chuckled. “How much courage did Gary inspire for you to actually

suggest dissolving our current arrangement?”

Cindy eyed him. “What does this have to do with Gary? Can you not pin everything on him?”

Ian had a mocking look on his face. “You think I don’t know just how much of a sucker you are formoney? You used to be able to endure any sort of hardship, but now you can’t do that? To the pointthat you’re willing to abandon your job? It’s clear that Gary has been encouraging you.”

Cindy took in a few deep breaths. “Ian, I never realized just how petty you are. I have my ownboundaries too, regardless of my love for money. I’m not willing to serve someone like you no matterhow much money I can get out of it.”

Ian slowly reined in his expression. He stared at her for a long while. “Fine, then. If that’s what youwant, let’s end your employment tomorrow. You think I’m willing to live my days like this? You have noidea how ill at ease I am with you around.”

Cindy nearly burst into laughter. You ate the food that I cooked, and you stayed in the house that Ihelped keep tidy and clean. Why didn’t you voice your discomfort then? novelbin

She made an affirming hum. “Fine. Since we’ve said that much, then there’s nothing else to add. That’sa deal.”

Having said that, she whirled around and left Ian’s room to go to her own. She didn’t have a lot ofbelongings, so packing up was rather simple.

Cindy opened her luggage. As she shoved her clothes inside it, she stewed in her anger. However, even while she seethed, she still couldn’t quite understand how they managed to argue until that point

when she had given Ian a choice. Back then, she always thought that she would never get into anargument with Ian. She thought that they would definitely be able to sit down and have a good talk overanything that bothered them. Well, look at us now. While they clearly hadn’t yelled at each other andwere relatively composed during their fight, neither of them had wanted to back down from their stance.

Soon, Cindy finished packing her things. Although she said that she would part ways with himtomorrow, she didn’t want to continue staying here tonight. She could forget about sleeping tonight aswell, what with her current mood. It was better to find another place for her to sort out her feelingsinstead of staying here and letting her anger continue to marinate.

After taking a few deep breaths, Cindy listened for any signs of motion outside.

The living room was completely silent. She couldn’t hear anything. Ian was probably still in his room.

Cindy smoothed out her clothing and tied her hair up. Then, with her luggage in hand, she walked overto her door and swung it open before striding out to make for the front door.

However, when Cindy crouched down to change her shoes, Ian opened his door as well and followedher. In just a few steps, he reached the front door, his movements even more forceful than Cindy’s.
