Chapter 1548

Then, Aurora joked, “I hope he is not being asked to stay behind and follow the illicit rules.”

Cindy was quite troubled and was not in a good mood to begin with, but after hearing Aurora’s words, she could not help but laugh.

She played along and commented, “Oh, my—that really might be possible.”

Even though it was just a joke, Aurora was confused to see this. Looking at Cindy, she asked, “Did youguys get into a fight? Otherwise, he shouldn’t be back so late.”

Cindy quickly shook her head. “No, we weren’t fighting.”

Then, she added with a smile, “There’s nothing for us to fight upon as well. Everything in our lives isgoing well. We both just placed some investments and we might be earning money soon. He has twoadvertisements to shoot. With good news one after another, we are beyond happy, so why would wefight?”

With a frown on her face, Aurora stared at Cindy for a while before she finally nodded. “You are right.”

Then, she leaned against her chair. “As long as there’s enough money, the relationship between acouple will be good. I’m saying this from past experience. The troubles that modern people have ismostly related to money. With money, people’s lives would be better, and there would not be a lot ofconflicts.”

Naomi also had similar thoughts. “Some of my colleagues at work complained about their familydisputes. Honestly, if they have enough money, everything would be settled, which is why I think Ian

and Cindy shouldn’t have any huge problems. It also seems like the fans are not trying to stir up sometrouble for them. Without their interference, you guys are having a good life, so there really isn’t anyreason for a fight.”

Cindy nodded without saying anything.

Even though she told them that she did not have a fight with Ian, she felt that he was mad at her today.

With his temperament, no matter what happened, he would be able to sort it out. He would definitelynot take it out on innocent people.

However, seeing how cold he treated her today, it was highly probable that he was mad at her.

That being said, Cindy could not remember how she had offended him.

When he was shooting for the program, they were still being quite nice to each other.

After the show ended, Ian treated her quite well too.

What remained was their journey home. Neither of them spoke to each other in the car, and hebehaved weirdly after they got out of the car.

Usually after they went back home, he would bid farewell to the driver.

However, he pulled a long face today and said nothing, as if the driver owed him a huge sum and hadno plans to return the money to him.

That’s right! That was where his peculiar behavior started, Cindy thought, gaining more clarity by themoment.

However, she was still quite dumbfounded. But nothing happened throughout the entire journey, though. novelbin

Both of us did not even speak to each other, so how could I have offended him during that time?

Meanwhile, Aurora and Naomi were discussing their thoughts on money while Cindy listened to them.

Her thoughts, however, were in chaos.

Since they were living under the same roof now, if they had a fight, it would not do well for either ofthem.

Hence, she wondered if she should talk it out with Ian after he returned and asked where she madehim unhappy.

If it was her problem, she would definitely repent and explain herself to him, or she would evenapologize.

But if it’s not my problem…

She hesitated at that.

Would Ian explain or apologize to me?

Forget it! If it’s not my problem, I’ll just forget about it.

Ian is my boss, after all. How could a boss apologize to an assistant? As long as we know what theproblem is, that will have to do.

Cindy thought a lot about this, and Naomi’s conversation with Aurora also came to an end. The sky hadgotten dark rather quickly that night, so both Naomi and Aurora got up to leave.

Cindy did not bother with pleasantries and directly saw them out.

When she returned to the unit, she cleaned the kitchen and quickly brushed her teeth.

Then, she sat on the couch to wait for Ian. No matter what, she wanted to clear things up. She was nota person who could tolerate ambiguity, so she wanted to get to the bottom of the issue.
