Chapter 1488

Why is he kneeling before this brat?

Alexander was surprised. “Dad, what's going on? Why are you kneeling before this boor?”

He immediately made to help Patrick up.

“Shut up! How dare you call him a boor? Get on your knees and apologize to Mr. Campbell!”

Patrick was about to crawl all the way to Harold to plead for forgiveness but got a fright after hearingthe way his son addressed Harold.

Instead of getting up, he pulled his son to the ground.

Alexander was dumbfounded. “Dad? What is going on? Why are you asking me to kneel?”

Before he could finish, Patrick gave him a tight slap. Without saying anything else, the elderly man thencrawled all the way to Harold.

Flinging his arms around Harold's leg, he pleaded, “Mr. Campbell, I was ignorant and tried to rob thecradle. This has nothing to do with my son. If you want revenge, please come at me. Please spare myson. I shall bear responsibility for what I've done!”

Everyone else froze in disbelief.

Didn't Old Mr. Yarrow act arrogantly earlier? Why is he kneeling on the ground and begging for Harold'sforgiveness now? What happened?

Harold shot Patrick a frosty glare. He didn't bother showing any mercy.

After pleading for some time, Patrick realized Harold wasn't responding. He immediately turned aroundto fling his arms around Yvonne's leg.

“Ms. Campbell, I loved you dearly. Can you please ask your brother to forgive me?” he beggeddesperately.

Yvonne was shocked at his action.

“Hey! Let me go. Scram!” she screamed fearfully and shook the elderly man off.

The bystanders nearly puked in disgust after hearing Patrick's words.

You're older than her father. How dare you claim to love her dearly? Ugh, what a disgusting andshameless old man!

“Apologize to my sister until she asks you to stop.” Finally, Harold parted his lips and gave his ordercoolly.

“Ms. Campbell, I was a fool for trying to marry you. You're way out of my league. I deserve to die for mywishful thinking. Please forgive me. I will never harbor any improper thoughts about you anymore, Ms.Campbell.”

Harold's words gave Patrick a way out, so the latter instantly apologize to Yvonne.

Yvonne was still in utter disbelief and couldn't pull herself together.

Her confusion merely increased after she heard Patrick's apology.

Yvonne was at a loss, but someone else promptly took action. novelbin

Layne knew that his nephew was no ordinary figure, judging by how afraid Patrick was.

After pondering briefly, he gritted his teeth and rushed out to beat Patrick to a pulp.

“Old fool! You're going to kick the bucket soon, but you dreamed of robbing the cradle. How dare youlust after my pretty and young niece? I shall teach you a lesson so you won't dare to do that anymore!”Layne roared as he kicked Patrick violently.

He acted as though Patrick had snatched his wife away from him and dug his ancestral graves. Thatwas how savage he was.

Those who didn't know what he was like would think he adored his niece greatly.

“W-What's going on?”
