Chapter 1479

For some reason, there was always an indescribable agitation within him whenever he was with Cindy.

As the two of them got on their beds, they grabbed their phones.

Cindy forced herself to see a couple of gossip news, and she eventually lost her patience with them. With that, she switched to her WhatsApp to look at Ian’s status.

Since Ian wasn’t active on social media, apart from the fact that he had changed his status’s viewabilityto merely three days, his uploads were basically invisible.

To her surprise, she saw a status published by him five minutes ago; there was only a picture withoutany caption.

It was a glass of water, and it was obviously the one she had seen minutes ago. He placed it on thebedside dresser and simply took a snap of it.

The purpose behind the post greatly baffled Cindy.

She zoomed in on the photo curiously, but she found nothing peculiar about it.

She eventually swiped the photo away as she gritted her teeth, thinking that she was beingsuperfluous.

There’s nothing to see nor to care about. It’s just a mindless picture.

What a waste of time.

As she bore a surge of frustration in her heart, she locked her phone before switching off the lamp andlying down to sleep.

Meanwhile, Ian put his phone away and went to sleep after posting that picture.

That night, both of them couldn’t get a good night’s sleep, and Ian unexpectedly had a rare dream.

Although he couldn’t sleep well, dreaming was a rarity for him. Even if he had a dream, he wouldinstantly forget about it the moment he woke up.

Nonetheless, the dream he had this time remained vivid in his head when he got up.

It was a dream about him living in the Morgan Residence as a kid.

At the dining table, there were always empty seats between him and the others. novelbin

Leah would pick up food for Simon and Sally, urging them to eat. She would sometimes gravitate toSean when they spoke. Despite her adoration for the kids, she was always glowering at Ian.

In other words, Ian had never felt the warmth of family. He had never experienced a harmonious dinnerwith his family, nor an occasional heartwarming chat with them.

Scenes were constantly shifting in his dream. Strangely, the final one was him sharing a meal withAurora and Cindy.

The scene was rather short. He woke himself up while trying to turn to the other side of his body, losingthe last fragment of his dream.

He scratched his head and wondered, Was the dinner last night so pleasant that it gave me a dream?

However, after experiencing the dream, he had a different mindset from before.

After spacing out on his bed for a while, he went to the bathroom to freshen himself up and exited hisbedroom.

When he shut the door, he could see Cindy being hectic in the kitchen as a subtle fragrance of ricewafted in the air.

Although he was used to such a lifestyle, a gush of complicated emotions stirred in his heart.

On the other hand, Cindy, who was just done preparing breakfast, turned around as she was fetchingthe food to the dining table. She saw Ian standing at his bedroom door, staring at her.

She then quizzed with a grin, “Why are you standing there? Come and get your breakfast.”

He went and sat at the table silently.

Throughout the entire time, he munched on his food without saying a word.

Cindy felt somewhat perturbed given how Ian was obviously behaving oddly.

Thus, she attempted to test him. “Are you sick?”

Ian raised his head and looked at her. “Nope, I’m thinking about the event I’ll be attending later.”

He had been invited to an award ceremony. Earlier on, he released a single which receivedtremendous praise, securing him a nomination for the Most Anticipated Rookie Award.

Cindy chuckled and complacently expressed, “Honestly, I’m a little nervous as well. It’s our first timereceiving such a big award.”

Indeed, it was Ian’s first time receiving an award, but he didn’t feel even a tinge of nervousnessbecause winning the award would mean drawing enemies.

He was aware of how many netizens had stated that he didn’t deserve the award, while some addedthat he only won it thanks to his attractive face.

He couldn’t tell if he deserved the award himself. After all, fan bases held significant power in theentertainment industry, so he couldn’t deny the awarding decision was somewhat rigged. Hence, hisfollowers were the only reason he got the award.
