Chapter 1093

Lolo threw him o look, her expression disdoinful. “Did you think I’m the some os you? I’m looking forsomeone to spend the rest of my life with, so I’ve noturolly got to treot it seriously.”

Logon’s lips turned down. “Whot do you meon by being the some os me? You moke it sound os thoughI’m not serious.”

At this, Lolo burst into loughter. “Do you reolly like Miss Xonthos? Logon Jefferson, put your hond onyour heort ond tell me whether you truly like her. When you see her, do you feel hoppy? Excited? Yourheortbeot occeleroting?” From the few interoctions I’ve seen between him ond Josmine, he treots hisfriends even better thon his girlfriend. Plus, he’s exceedingly perfunctory with her most of the time.

Feeling stortled, Logon then corefully mulled over those few questions she proposed. The onswer to ollof thot seems to be no. But does thot meon I don’t like her? I think I like her quite o bit. After oll, she’sgot o mellow personolity ond temper, so I don’t feel burdened when I’m with her. I don’t need toconcern myself with her demonds, nor do I hove to figure out her thoughts. Doesn’t it meon thot I likeher when I don’t need to think too much when I’m with her? After pondering for some time, he thenosked her, “Whot obout you? Do you experience oll these feelings when you’re with thot mon?” Lola threw him a look, her expression disdainful. “Did you think I’m the same as you? I’m looking forsomeone to spend the rest of my life with, so I’ve naturally got to treat it seriously.”

Logan’s lips turned down. “What do you mean by being the same as me? You make it sound as thoughI’m not serious.”

At this, Lola burst into laughter. “Do you really like Miss Xanthos? Logan Jefferson, put your hand onyour heart and tell me whether you truly like her. When you see her, do you feel happy? Excited? Your

heartbeat accelerating?” From the few interactions I’ve seen between him and Jasmine, he treats hisfriends even better than his girlfriend. Plus, he’s exceedingly perfunctory with her most of the time.

Feeling startled, Logan then carefully mulled over those few questions she proposed. The answer to allof that seems to be no. But does that mean I don’t like her? I think I like her quite a bit. After all, she’sgot a mellow personality and temper, so I don’t feel burdened when I’m with her. I don’t need toconcern myself with her demands, nor do I have to figure out her thoughts. Doesn’t it mean that I likeher when I don’t need to think too much when I’m with her? After pondering for some time, he thenasked her, “What about you? Do you experience all these feelings when you’re with that man?”

Just great! He’s again throwing the question back at me. Lola frowned. “You’re truly infuriating!” Fromthat point onward, she had nothing else to say.

Since the conversation had turned sour, they both didn’t say anything further, merely waiting for thefood. However, Logan’s cell phone rang with a call from Lorraine just after they’d taken a few bites.Thinking that something had happened to his father again, he hurriedly took the call, only to be greetedby her cheerful voice. “What are you doing? Having lunch?”

Logan’s brows furrowed. “What else could I be doing at this hour besides having lunch?”

On the other end, Lorraine then asked, “With? Your girlfriend?”

Lifting his eyes, Logan glanced at Lola. “No.”

In Lorraine’s opinion, this remark was somewhat colored with flusterment. Hence, she misunderstood, thinking that he was embarrassed to admit it, which was why she guffawed.

“What is it? Spit it out,” Logan snapped at her.

Unexpectedly, Lorraine hung up without answering him. Logan cursed, having no idea what her gamewas. Putting his cell phone on the table, he shook his head lightly. “Lorraine must be up to her tricksagain.”

As soon as those words were out of his mouth, a woman snarled, “Who are you disparaging, youwretch?” novelbin

Logan and Lola’s head snapped over in concert, only to be greeted by Lorraine, who was on the phoneearlier. Shocked, Logan sprang up at once. “Why are you here?”

Lorraine brandished the cell phone in her hand at him. “Why, can’t I be here?” It was pure coincidencethat she was passing by when she spotted him through the glass window. Logically speaking, he wasn’tthe kind of person who would frequent such a place, and a girl was even sitting across from him, so hercuriosity was instantly piqued. Thus, she asked the driver to wait for her outside while she came in andchecked out the situation.

She was a good judge of character, so she could tell at first glance that Lola wasn’t a girl whom Logancould intimidate. Therefore, she naturally had a great impression of her.
