Kabanata 332 Ibinaba ni Elliot ang telepono nang may masamang tingin sa kanyang telepono,pagkatapos ay padabog na lumabas ng kanyang opisina.
Hindi lamang sinuman ang maaaring kumuha ng kanilang mga kamay sa mga tabletas sa pagtulog.
Saan nanggaling ang mga ito? Sa sandaling huminto ang itim na Rolls-Roice sa harap ng bakuran,dinala ni Mrs. Cooper si Shea pabalik sa kanyang silid.
Nang pumasok si Elliot sa sala, iniabot sa kanya ni Mrs. Scarlet ang resulta ng pagsusulit.
“Dinala mo si Shea sa ospital para magpa-checkup?” Tanong ni Elliot habang sinusulyapan si Mrs.Scarlet.
Umiwas ng tingin si Mrs. Scarlet at hindi naglakas loob na salubungin ang kanyang mga mata.
Inutusan siya ni Avery na huwag banggitin na si Avery kung hindi siya guluhin ni Elliot.
“Si Miss Tate po iyon,” sabi ni Mrs. Scarlet habang binibigyan niya ng diin ang mga titig ni Elliot.“Nagpumilit si Shea na puntahan ang mga anak ni Miss Tate ngayon…”
“Bumalik na si Avery?” Sabi ni Elliot, pinutol siya.
“Bumalik siya kaninang umaga,” sabi ni Mrs. Scarlet. “Wala siyang gustong gawin dito, pero nakiusapako na tingnan niya si Shea dahil kanina pa niya sinasabi na mamamatay na siya. Sobrang nag-aalalaako.”
“Bakit hindi mo sinabi kay Zoe?”
Ang dahilan ni Elliot ay nagsimulang mabigla.
Nawala ang katinuan niya nang mabanggit ang pangalan ni Avery.
“Nakausap ko na si Doctor Sanford tungkol sa kondisyon ni Shea, ngunit sinabi niya na ito ay isangnormal na reaksyon pagkatapos ng operasyon sa bawat oras,” malungkot na sabi ni Mrs. Scarlet.“Hindi ako pwedeng umupo na lang at panoorin si Shea na sobrang depressed.”

“I suspect it’s gone something to do with the sedatives that Doctor Sanford prescribed, but I can’t besure,” Mrs. Scarlet said warily as she handed the white pill bottle to Elliot.
Elliot took the bottle, opened it up and took a look inside.

Zoe rushed over an hour later.
The atmosphere in the living room was cold and suffocating, and abnormally quiet.
The moment she saw the white pill bottle on the coffee table, she instantly understood what hadhappened.
She put on an innocent expression, then said to Elliot’s cold face, “This is the sedative I prescribed toShea a few days ago. I instructed Mrs. Scarlet to give her a pill during each meal for a total of threedays. Shea’s emotions were too intense before, which wasn’t good for her recovery. “Mrs. Scarlet’s getting old, Elliot. She’s bound to make some mistakes. I hope you don’t blame her,”Zoe said as she took on the role of a hero and asked for forgiveness on behalf of Mrs. Scarlet.
Elliot glanced at Zoe’s face, then retorted, “Why did you give her a whole bottle if it’s only meant to betaken for three days?”
Zoe was taken aback, but quickly reacted and said, “Perhaps I was tired at the time and also
