Chapter 856 Hope You Like It

Chapter 856 Hope you Like it

Felix didn't tell Irvin about the Celestial Book because there was so much involved.

He also didn't know that Rosefinch Club and Dragon Club had a big fight four and a half years ago

because of this.

So, when Felix, never a fan of such occasions, showed up, he laughed and joked, "Felix, what brings

you to the auction? You used to stay home and never go anywhere. You've been a different person

since you got a girlfriend!

But there are some good things here today. I heard that several pieces of jewelry are newly unearthed,

and is once worn by the empress of the European royal family. They must be very expensive. You can

have a look."

Felix looked at him and said coldly, "I'm not interested in that."

Irvin immediately showed a look of disappointment. "Well, what I was saying was..."

"I'm not interested either." Queeny answered immediately.

Irvin was at a loss for words.

He shook his head and pointed at Queeny. "How can you be so stupid? As a woman, if you are not

interested in jewelry and antiques, what else can you be interested in?

Remember, don't feel bad for Felix or save him money. As the saying goes, if you don't spend a man's

money, another woman will spend it for him. So don't be such an idiot. Watch out for some other

woman who swindles Felix out of all his money, and you won't get any."

Hearing this, Queeny could not help laughing.

She laughed and said, "Irvin, you may be mistaken. And by no interest, I mean not in jewelry or

diamonds, but in things worn by dead people."

Irvin took a moment to realize it.

It was true that today's auction was full of dead people's stuff.

He grinned. "Then I must have misunderstood you. You're right. There's no way something that's been

worn by a dead man can be precious. We prefer the new one."

Queeny did not answer him. Irvin then turned to the other side to talk to Martha.

She sat there quietly for some time when she suddenly felt a gentle poke in the arm.

She turned to see Felix tilt his head slightly and whisper, "That's what I was saying. Whatever a dead

man wears, however valuable, bears a whiff of blemish. If I were to give it to you, it would be a new

one. It's made of the same material. Could it be inferior to the ones dug out of the ground?"

Queeny glanced sideways at him and said nothing.

In her eyes, however, there was a hint of half-smile.

Felix was a little stifled by her glance.

Whether it was his own delusion or not, he felt that the way she had looked at him seemed to be

seducing him.

Queeny calmly turned her head and said, "Don't take that crap from Irvin."

How could a noble man become so glib?

To give it to her? Who said she wanted it?

In spite of her complaint, her heart was as sweet as honey.

Queeny had always thought she was not a person who cared about such things. After all, she was not

quite like other women.

But now she did not know why she was pleased to hear men say such things to her, with their

ingratiating manner and tone.

She closed her eyes and sighed helplessly to herself.

"Queeny, sweet talk from a man is the most dangerous trap in the world, and you must not fall for it."

She reminded herself in mind.novelbin

Felix had no idea what Queeny was thinking.

He only caught a glimpse of her complicated face. He wondered if she was moved by his confession,

but she didn't want to admit her true feelings, so she was a little faltering.

He thought to himself with satisfaction that his methods seemed to be working after all.

At the very least, it worked for her.

He bragged about himself in his mind, unaware that someone was already on guard against his sugar-

coated bullets.

Ten minutes later, the auction officially began.

Almost everyone here today was famous and powerful. Because tickets were limited, some people who

were not qualified were not allowed to come here.

At the beginning of the auction, the whole hall fell silent. The host, dressed in a red dress, came on

stage, briefly introduced the auction, and made a brief explanation of the rules of the auction, and then

walked away.

The auction had officially begun.

The first item on the show is a pair of superb imperial green bracelets.

It was said to be from thousands of years ago, and it was a very valuable antique.

People here today, though mostly famous and powerful, had come for the Celestial Book. But there

were a few of them who didn't believe there was such a thing as bringing the dying back to life.

Therefore, some of them came to see some antique jewelry and so on. So as soon as the bracelet was

unveiled, people started bidding.

Queeny and Felix were not interested, so they did not participate in the bidding.

Irvin asked Martha if she liked it and she just shook her head, so Irvin also didn't bid.

Queeny was sitting in the middle, with Felix on her left, and Irvin on her right.

Because they were sitting so close, she could hear everything Irvin said.

He said to Martha in a low voice, "If you like anything in this, please let me know. I was so happy when

you came to my birthday party and gave me such an expensive present. You know what they say,

courtesy demands reciprocity. I have to give you a present back, don't I?

Besides, look at all the men here today, all the things they bought at auction were for their female

companions. It would be mean of me not to give you something.

So, consider it to gratify my pride and vanity, and let me know if you see something you like. Please."

Perhaps amused by his words, Martha chuckled.

"You're really... Like the rumor has it, you have no place to spend your money."

Irvin smiled awkwardly.

Because the Kayes were deeply rooted in the area, they owned most of the businesses here.

Wherever Irvin went, to eat, to have fun, to go to the mall, these places all belonged to his family.

So, word began to spread that Irvin was the local prince and he had nowhere to spend his money.

Because everything that needed money belonged to his family.

Martha made fun of this, leaving him at a loss what to say.

Queeny chimed in at this point.

She smiled and said in a low voice, "It's not that he has nowhere to spend his money. He is just being a

coward. He wanted to go after a girl, but he dared not say a word. So all he can do is to give you a

present and expect you to accept it."
