Chapter 60

Chapter 60

Neville frowned and sent Alison a message, [You’re pregnant?]

Alison did not reply for a long time, and Neville didn’t have the patience to wait any longer. Nevillethrew his phone to the side.

In a serious tone, Micah analyzed, “I reckon Alison wanted to create a scandal to test Mr. Aidan. Whoknew that your ex-wife would counterattack and post the divorce certificate? In the end, Alison waseven accused of being a third party. Alison was probably unwilling to accept it, so she released thesephotos to mark her territory.”

Micah clucked his tongue and continued, “Neville, I suddenly think none of your lovers are easy targets. Moreover, from the looks of it, your old lover is stronger. Why don’t you reluctantly remarry Madison? After all, it’s a little difficult to find a woman with both looks and brains to be your virtuous wife.”

Neville felt even more suffocated. Neville felt he had come to the wrong place tonight, making thingseven more

difficult for himself.

“Shut up, Micah,” Neville said.

The more Micah spoke, the more excited he became. “Neville, I underestimated your ex-wife in thepast. I thought she was the kind of woman who would stay home and only knew how to do housework:Who knew that she had this in her? In one move, Madison’s opponent doesn’t even have the chance tocatch her breath. It’s simply too amazing. Did you know that Madison was so awesome in the past?”

Neville picked up the glass in front of him and c h u g ge d the drink down. Madison had indeedsurprised him, and he was seeing her in a new light.

In the past, Madison had been dull, gentle, and obedient. Now, she was wise, calm, and at ease. Shewas a completely different person.

This realization made Neville’s chest feel even more stifled.

‘Had she always been acting in front of me?’ Neville wondered.

Neville said angrily, “She’s a scheming woman to begin with. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have married intothe Preston family back then.”

Micah mustered his courage and said, “Neville, that’s not nice to say. Madison almost lost her life onthe operating table for you. She was willing to stay obediently in the Preston family for three yearsbecause she loved you. How does that translate to being a scheming woman?”

Neville was even more frustrated. He had come to relieve his depression, not to be irritated.

Micah kept defending

, and in Neville’s eyes, Micah had become a traitor.

Neville suddenly remembered Ryan’s words, and his face darkened. “Why? Do you want to date hertoo?”

“I do….” Micah started speaking but his voice trailed off, thinking that he was not worthy of Madison.

When Micah saw Neville’s cold and murderous expression, he gulped, swallowing the words that wereat the tip of his tongue.

Micah coughed. “Neville, I don’t mean anything else. I just admire Madison. This divorce was clean andstraightforward. Moreover, when dealing with her love rival, she didn’t hold back. Her methods andschemes. were indeed hidden before.”

When Micah saw that Neville’s expression was still dark, Micah said, “I used to think that Madisonwasn’t worthy of you, but now that I lo

at it, you’re a perfect match. I’m determined to support the both of you, so should! help?”

When Neville thought of Madison’s determination, he was instantly furious. Neville suddenly gulpeddown more red wine and said, “She’s not worthy!”

‘A man couldn’t look back!’ Neville thought.

At this moment, the waiter walked over and whispered something into Micah’s ear.

Micah looked at Neville playfully. “Neville, do you want me to test if Madison is still interested in you?”

Neville did not expect Madison to be here. In the past, she hated coming to such places, but now, itseemed like she was a frequent visitor.

‘Indeed, she was just waiting for an opportunity to run wild.’ Neville thought.

Neville stood up and hung his jacket over the crook of his arm. He said angrily, “Those who have leftare like dags that have run away from home. After being out in the wild, they’ve become wild too, soeven if they are brought

back, they will not be the same as before.”

Since Madison had cut ties with him, Neville could not be bothered with her.

A divorce was nothing. Besides, Neville had never lacked women.

Neville left the second floor. He paused at the top of the stairs and finally walked through the hall on thefirst floor towards the door.

Micah watched Neville from the comer of the stairs and smiled. Then, he instructed the waiter to getready.

At the poker table on the first floor, Madison and Hazel were having a good time.

Although it was Madison’s first time playing poker, she was smart and had a good memory. After losingthree rounds in a row, she managed to turn the tables, winning the following games very smoothly, quickly helping Hazel change her luck.

Hazel hugged Madison’s waist excitedly. “Madison, you’re simply a treasure! You’re even so good atplaying cards. No one would believe that this is your first time playing. That ba

st

a r d Neville Preston is blind to not cherish you.”

Madison followed the cards and warned lazily, “Men will only affect the speed at which I play my cards, and tarnish my luck.”

Hazel smiled and said, “Alright, alright. Let’s have fun tonight. We won’t mention any stupi

d men.

Neville saw Madison as soon as he walked into the hall.

Madison was wearing exaggerated smoky makeup and a t a s s e l mask was covering half her face, but he recognized her at a glance.

It was probably because they had lived together for so long that it was inevitable that they would beable to recognize each other.

Madison was playing happily and seemed to be quite lucky. As she played cards, she teased thewoman beside

her.

The black gold-threaded queen’s gown was gaudy but it looked fresh and refined on her.

Madison’s small face was paired with smoky makeup, making her look like a queen. However, whenshe smiled,

she hid the innocence of a young woman.

Neville did not know why he could not walk anymore. His feet seemed to be nailed to the ground.

Micah asked Neville to go to the poker table. “Neville, go over and play a few rounds. Even if you’redivorced, you’re still friends. There’s no need to be so ruthless.”

Neville snorted coldly. “Do you think I’m that contemptible?”

Micah almost laughed out loud, thinking, ‘If you’re not, why are you standing here like a fool? There aretwo paths. One leads straight to the garage, and the other leads to the hall. Didn’t you come to the hall

to take’a look

at her?’

However, Micah did not dare to say that out loud. After all, he had used two bottles of red wine that costmore

than 20 thousand dollars to get Neville to unblock him.

“Alright, do as you wish. I’ll go over and play a few rounds. After all, Miss Guzman still likes me verymuch.” Micahnovelbin

said.

Madison turned around and saw Neville standing in the crowd.

Madison could not be blamed for noticing him at a glance. Neville’s clothes were too eye-catching inthis strange

crowd.

Neville looked like he had come directly from his office. He was still wearing a white shirt, and a blackjacket was draped over his arm. He stood rooted to the ground, his gaze passing through everyone’sline of sight, and landing directly on Madison, their eyes meeting.

Madison frowned and looked away.

Madison didn’t want to see Neville now, especially since both of them had just issued divorcedeclarations.

Hazel also noticed Neville. “F u c k, what kind of f u c k n g luck do we have that we can meet your ex-husband here? Why is he here?”
