Chapter 824

| pursed my lips and thought that Hendrix was really smart. That driver was unreliable as | had thought that he would at leasthelp me call the police.

| sighed. Strangers could not be trusted after all.Aaron looked at me with a strange look in his eyes. "Aren't you going to ask how Hendrix is doing?" he asked. How should | put it?novelbin

Hendrix bore most of the brunt from the sulfuric acid for me. He wouldn't be any better than | was. It was just that | had no ideahow to ask Aaron about his condition.

Looking up at Aaron, | asked, "Aaron, am | selfish?"

He frowned and said in a low voice, "He has planned this for a long time. It's not your fault. You couldn't have predicted this. Youholding a grudge against Hendrix is understandable. However, Arianna, we can't deny that he has done his best for you."

That was right. He had already done his best. He was a human being, not a god. He wouldn't have expected Josiah would stillhave such hatred buried deep within him, nor would he have expected that after so many years, he would prepare such a bigtrap for us.

However, the fact remained that everything had happened because of him.

Seeing me frown, Aaron sighed slightly, mostly out of resignation. He said, "Arianna, if you can't let go of most things, the pathahead of you will only be even more tiring.”

| looked up at him and asked, "What about you? Can you let go of Yana's identity and live properly with her?"He fell silent and slightly frowned. "We're talking about you right now," he replied.

| nodded and said, "You're right, we're indeed talking about me. It's just that I've changed the way I'm conversing with you.Actually, there are a lot of things which if they don't happen to ourselves, we'll feel that it's okay and that the culprit deserves tobe forgiven. However, once those things happen to us, our attitude will be different."

He pursed his lips, probably feeling that | was being mean about the matter, so he chose to be silent.

After the anesthesia wore off, the burning pain from my face slowly crept in. | laid on the bed, my mind already imagining whatmy face would look after the scar had healed.

Due to the fact that something had befell me, Pedro and Valerie both came. When they saw me, Valerie's tears fell like pearls.

| was reluctant to speak, so they could only keep silent. After finding out that | had been dragged in by Hendrix into the matterthat caused my injury, they looked extremely upset.

Fortunately, when they learned that Hendrix had blocked most of the damage for me, their expressions became much better. However, regardless of his help, | was injured, hence accountability was necessary.

Using Charles’ authority, a standard arrest procedure was made. No matter how powerful the Saunders family was, they had noway to defend themselves. After all, they had indeed injured someone.
