Chapter 808

| knew that the Saunders family was wealthy; it was just that their wealth was slightly more than what | had initially expected.

It took more than ten minutes to reach the front door of the Saunders family home from the gate. Along the way were parks andnatural scenery. As it was winter, the maple leaves had fallen off the trees at the side of the road; they looked bare.

The ambience became even quieter and more desolate.novelbin

In the car, Josiah's phone rang. Judging from his tone, it should be from Hendrix.

He said a few lines, then looked at me and handed the phone over, saying, "It's Hendrix."

| pursed my lips and glanced at him. | did not reach out to take the phone and chose to ignore him instead.Hesitantly, he took it back and spoke into the phone, "Call back later!"

| didn't know what was said on the other end. Josiah muttered an agreement, then hung up on the call. It was dead silence againin the car.

The car stopped in front of a row of bungalows. A few neatly dressed people stepped out. They might be the servants or thenannies hired by the Saunders family.

After getting out of the car, someone stepped forward and called out to Josiah, "Young Master!"Josiah nodded and looked at me while saying, "Let's go in and talk."

Then, he turned to the middle-aged man leading in front and said, "Prepare a room for Miss Reid."The middle-aged man nodded and then left.

Josiah and | entered the villa. There were more than a dozen middle- aged men and women seated in the hall. Two elderlypeople sat right in the middle.

Seeing Josiah and | enter, they all turned to look at us.

Athin middle-aged woman stepped forward first and asked, "Josh, have you found the child?"

Hearing this, my nerves, which had initially relaxed, immediately tightened.

My body trembled as | stood where | was. So, Anne had really gone missing?

My head started buzzing. Enduring the stress response from my body, | lifted my eyes to look at Josiah, waiting for his response.

Josiah frowned as he noticed my reaction. His expression remained weary as he said, with some difficulty, "I've already senteveryone out to search for her, and I have also reported it to the police. Anne will be okay!"

"Smack!" | had used up whatever was left of my strength in this slap. There was enough left to hit Josiah's face. It wassufficiently loud and painful.

Everyone in the hall immediately looked towards me. Some were furious, some frowned in confusion, and others looked at thescene with anticipation.

"Who are you? How could you simply hit someone?" The person who stepped forward to speak was a girl in her twenties. Shewas slightly plump with a round, chubby face.
