The anesthetic had worn off six hours after Valerie came out of the operating room.
She still had to rest for a few days due to the surgical wound on her abdomen.
After taking care of her for the entire night, Pedro, who was seated on a chair, looked drowsy and kept nodding off.Valerie laid on the hospital bed, seemingly deep in thought as she stared up at the ceiling above her.
Hearing our movements in the ward, she looked over and was startled to see us.
She raised her hand and gave Pedro a few pats. Then, she said to us with a smile, "You're here!"
Pedro immediately woke up and straightened his back, looking slightly surprised as well to see us. He then got up, looking a littledazed. When he regained his senses, he said, "It's snowing heavily. Why are you here? It's freezing outside!"
Hendrix smiled and placed the tonic he had brought over on the hospital desk. "It's snowing, but it's not that cold."
After a pause, he looked around the ward before his gaze fell on Pedro, who seemed to have fallen partially asleep again. "Mr.Moore, have you guys had breakfast?"
Pedro nodded, but then shook his head and answered drowsily, "Not yet!"He sighed to himself. "I'm getting old, so | get tired easily."
