Chapter 774

We arrived at the hospital.

The doctor diagnosed Valerie with appendicitis and informed us that she needed surgery, so Nerissa returned to the villa to takecare of Anne while the others stayed behind at the hospital.

In the corridor of the hospital, a gust of wind blew by, sending shivers down everyone's back.

Whenever | stared at something for a long time, my eyes would hurt. | took a breath and pried my eyes away. The three peoplein the emergency room were too glaring.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine." Hendrix's voice was soft and it carried with it a hint of firm assurance.

| nodded and leaned on his chest. My body felt cold and stiff. Hendrix tried his best to keep me warm.

Suddenly, a loud 'bang' was heard.

The door of the emergency room opened, and the main surgeon came rushing out as he took off the gloves on his hands.Pedro hurried over and asked, "Doctor, how's my wife?"

"The surgery was a success. She will be fine after a few days of hospitalization. Don't worry." The doctor left after giving us anupdate on Valerie's condition.

| breathed a sigh of relief, feeling my tense nerves gradually easing up.Soon, a few nurses pushed Valerie out and sent her to her ward.

Pedro immediately tailed them while | stood motionless, rooted to where | was standing for a long while. When | regained mysenses, | muttered, "Let's go!"

When Hendrix saw me walking towards the elevator, he asked, "Aren't you going to go take a look?”| shook my head, "No, Anne is still at home."Hendrix did not say anything after hearing this.

It was really quiet on our way back home. Looking at all the lights flashing outside the window, | could not help but sigh. How fastthe day changed; it was already dark out.

| thought about the food | had already prepared for Yana, but | was worried that she might have already eaten.

| took out my phone and decided to call her. To my surprise, | found that my phone had been turned off the entire time. Afterswitching it back on, | dialed for Yana, and as as soon as the call went through, she asked, "Arianna, how is Valerie? Is sheokay?"novelbin

| was surprised that she knew about this. "How did you..."

She said, "After our call, | tried to call you back a few times, but your phone was off. | was worried that something might havehappened to you, so | called your landline and Anne picked up. She said an old lady was sick, so | thought perhaps she meantValerie."

| nodded and said apologetically, "| was supposed to send stuff over to you, but | forgot to in the midst of all the chaos. Have youhad dinner?"

"Why are you still thinking about this when something so serious has happened? I'm at home and | have my nanny to take careof me. Don't worry about it. I'm fine."

"Is my brother there?" | asked.Perhaps the question was too sensitive as there was a long silence from her end. Then, she finally said, "He might be busy!"

It seemed that Aaron had not visited them recently. | told myself to keep calm instead of lashing out about my brother. | told hersoftly, "Take good care of yourself.”

After that, | hung up the phone.Hendrix took my hand in his and said in a low voice, "Don't worry too much. Go home and get some rest."

| nodded and looked at himsideways. Oddly, | said, "A book sthat if aman layes gamidonestiewWOuIcedd WRatever it takes to be byher side even if it meant placing hislife at stake. But why do | see it as theother way around?" Please read theoriginal content at NovelDrama.Org.
