Chapter 765

| simply said, "I just don't think it's worth it."

"You don't have the right to say whether it's worth it or not," he remarked harshly, "We should do our best to get what we want.Even if | lose, | can at least say that I've tried.”

| sighed and did not know what to say. His stubbornness would be the death of me.

| did not need him to see me off. The instant | saw the rain subsiding, | ran into it without a second thought. He followed me,saying, "Let me send you off."

"No!" | refused, but he was persistent.

“Even if you don't need me to send you off, could you at least take the umbrella with you?" He reached out and handed me theumbrella in his hand.

| pulled my hand away, not wanting to take it. He then grabbed for me again, and guided my hand to the umbrella's handle.

| stopped and looked at him, sunken, "Hendrix would come at you more fiercely if these photos get trended. When that happens,Granger Group getting ruined would be the least of your worries; you might even go to jail."

He sneered, "So what? The business world is brutal. Since | can't win, I'll accept my defeat. But Arianna, I'll never give up onyou.novelbin

| stiffened and felt anger rising within me. "Irvin, | know you're persistent, and you have what you want to chase after, but so do I.| have my own pursuit, and | will try my best to fight for what | want. | really don't know what you're trying to do, but I'm very clearon what | want."

He looked at me earnestly. "What do you want?"

"A place where Hendrix and | can call home!" | said without thinking.

Astrong gust of wind came and blew the umbrella away.

With the sound of the wind came his pain-filled, self-deprecating laughter. "Do you know what it feels like to be hurt, Arianna?"| did not say a word. | took a step back, kept my distance from him and walked towards the car.Everyone's journey in life was predestined since their first breaths.

| was not a greedy woman. All | wanted was Hendrix.

Hendrix's car was at the intersection of the city centre, and he saw me. He had been out looking for me.When | spotted the black Maybach, | parked my car on the side of the road.

Hendrix got out of his car. Although the rain wasn't heavy, he would still get wet if he walked under the rain. When he came into my car, | handed him some tissues. "Did you come pick me up on purpose?"

Although the bodyguards Hendrix hired did not make a show of tailing me, | was fully aware of the shadows behind mine.
