Chapter 595

I nodded and said, "Is red wine okay?" There were too many grapes in the backyard previously. We

could not finish eating them, so I used them to make wine.

He smiled and said, "That will do. It's impolite to have guests at home without wine."

Norman was slightly stunned and he looked a little surprised.

I smiled and got up to get the wine. When I came back, I saw the two of them chatting casually. It

seemed that the subject of the conversation was me, and they looked very harmonious.

Sitting back in my seat, Norman looked at me and said with a smile, "I’ve known you for so long, but I

didn't know you can't eat prawns."

I looked toward Hendrix and saw that he was opening the wine bottle with his eyes low. His gaze was

gentle and his temperament was dignified.

My heart instantly jolted. I turned my gaze toward Norman and replied, "It's not that I can't eat them at

all. Anne loves to eat prawns, so I would still eat them occasionally."

My body had become weak after giving birth.

Seafood was chilly. So, eating them would make me feel a little uncomfortable. However, it did not

mean that I could not eat it at all.

Norman smiled while Hendrix took the initiative to pour him a glass of wine. Then, he said in a gentle,

deep voice, "Thank you for taking care of her all these years when she was living here."

I never told anyone about my relationship with Hendrix. Although Norman had suspicion in his heart, he

had always been a gentleman. If I did not tell him, he would not ask.

The two men clinked their glasses and drank. It was quite a harmonious scene.

After a few drinks, the conversation and atmosphere became livelier. The two men seemed to have a

lot to talk about together.novelbin

Hendrix was a business prodigy in Jarold City. If he had kept a low profile during his years in Ucrebury,

then he had really shown his skills in Jarold City in the past four years.

In the past four years, he had become even more dazzling. Roberts Group, under his management,

had become one of the most outstanding listed companies in Jarold City. He had made substantial

investments in almost all industries and made considerable profits.

Such a man was not only dazzling among women, but was also highly regarded among men.

The two children had gone to bed early. Anne had returned to the bedroom while Bennett fell asleep on

Norman's knees.

Upon seeing this, the two of them did not continue to chat further.

After Norman left, Hendrix got up and cleaned up the bowls and cutleries on the table. I wiped the

table. I looked at him and said, "Hendrix, you have become calmer and level-headed."

He looked at me and smiled. "So, how should I praise you? You have become more gentle?"

I could not help laughing and went into the kitchen with the rag in my hand.

Putting the bowl and cutleries away, he took the rag from my hand and said, "I'll do it. Wash your hands

and go to check on Anne."

Knowing that I could not argue with him, I did not say anything more. I washed my hands and went to

Anne's bedroom to check on her.

When I came out, he had already tidied up everything and was lying on the sofa in the living room. His

eyes were closed and his breathing was calm. It seemed that he had fallen asleep.

I went into the bedroom. I took out the blanket and put it over him. He woke up when I touched his

shoulder.

I did not have time to avoid it and our eyes met. I did not know what to do at the moment. I was a little

stunned.

I smiled lightly and said, "You don't need me to take you with me."

He looked at me with burning intent. "I'll be wherever you are."

Under his gaze, I blushed. I raised my hand to cover his eyes and said, "Let's talk about this another

time!"

He hummed, pulling me into his embrace and burying his head deeply on my neck. "You smell really

good."

The atmosphere felt a little awkward. I got up and said lightly, "Have a good rest!"

He had been living here for some days. We got along very plainly. He remained a gentleman, and had

never crossed the line.
