Chapter 530

Andrea bawled her eyes out. Anne started crying too.

I took Anne over from Ian as she could not stop crying. I puckered my lips looking at Valerie and

Andrea, refusing to say a word more.

I took off with Anne in my arms and I was ready to go.

As I was going down the flight of stairs, I overheard Pedro telling Andrea, "From now on, you are not a

part of the Moore Family. You should not stay at Pearis Manor. My assistant will arrange a place for you

in the Southern District. Stay there. Don't cause any unnecessary trouble."

I had no interest in knowing the remaining conversation. I supposed Andrea might have just said

another bunch of nonsense.

Anne had stopped crying after getting into the car. She looked confused.

Hendrix finally came down. He had changed his shirt but was still black in color.

However, the black shirt did not seem to fit him well. He and Sawyer were about the same height, but

their body figures were different.

Hendrix liked to stay in shape. He has a strong muscular body.

Sawyer, on the other hand, was slightly thinner and fair-looking.

Hendrix pursed his lips and asked, "Aren't you going to ask me if it hurts?"

I raised my eyebrows, asking, "Did it hurt?"

He burst out laughing, "It hurts less if you kiss me." It was obvious that he was acting like a hooligan.

I snorted, ignoring him.

He smiled and ignited the car engine without saying anything.

The journey from Pearis Manor to Flora Hill took about one hour. Both Anne and I fell asleep not long

after Hendrix started driving.

When I gained consciousness, I was on my own bed in Flora Hills but Hendrix was not sleeping next to

me.

I got up and walked to the baby's room to find Hendrix coaxing Anne to sleep.

I took a break for a couple of seconds before I asked Hendrix, "Did she cry?"

He nodded, "Did we wake you up?"

I shook my head. Although I had just woken up, I was still feeling very sleepy. I almost dropped

Anne onto the ground when I was feeding her.

Fortunately, Hendrix had stayed by my side. He took Anne over into his arms and sent me back to the

bedroom.

I slept until the next morning. Hendrix was not there when I woke up.

I went straight to the baby room after washing up. Just as I expected, Hendrix was sleeping next to

Anne.

Both father and daughter were sleeping soundly. I could see some dark eye- circles forming on

Hendrix's handsome face. He had not slept well the whole night.

The doorbell kept ringing. I went down to answer and found Valerie standing at the door.

I was a little agitated when I saw her. "Valerie, are you here this early to see Hendrix?"

I sounded croaky. Valerie was very concerned, "Did you catch a cold? Was it because of yesterday's

accident? Did you take your medicine?"

I...

What the hell is she doing?novelbin

"Valerie, I'm fine, thank you for asking. Is the matter urgent for you to come this early? Hendrix is

asleep so you might have to wait for a while."

I tried my best to suppress my dissatisfaction and motioned for her to wait in the living room.

She seemed to be unable to see my dissatisfaction. With a smile on her face, she explained, "Anne

cries at night when she is hungry. Young couples like you do not have much experience taking care of

her so I brought along two experienced midwives. Not only do they take care of you but they can also

help take care of Anne at night."

There were two middle-aged women behind her, who looked very kind. I turned to Valerie to reject her

offer, "Valerie, you do not need to do this."

She did not seem to listen. She continued to brief the midwives on Anne's conditions. Then, she looked

into the kitchen and saw I had cooked something in the pot.

She said hurriedly, "Have you eaten breakfast yet? Let me make you some."

She had made her way into the kitchen as she spoke.

I...

Something was wrong somewhere.
