Chapter 463

I sneered and said, mindlessly, "Crossed the line? I thought that I hadn't done quite enough, seeingnovelbin

that she still has a chance to be saved."

He became so infuriated that he was at a loss for words. After a pause, he retorted, "An eye for an eye,

a tooth for a tooth. Do you really take Pedro for a pushover? She's the daughter that he's been looking

for over 20 years. If something bad happens to her, do you think that anyone would be able to protect

you?"

I said fearlessly, "If Andrea really dies, I'll pay for it with my life if that's what it takes. Isn't it one hell of a

bargain, for someone without attachments like me to die and drag her down with me?"

Disappointed to the core, he glared at me. "Without attachments? Arianna, you're heartless. What do

you consider the people around you to be?"

I sat on the chair slightly irritated and ignored his accusation.

Seeing that I refused to change my mind, he held his forehead and felt extremely helpless. He called

for a doctor to check if I was hurt.

When the doctor saw that there was blood on my hand, he checked it and found that there was no

wound. Then, he left.

Hendrix looked at me helplessly and asked, "Why did you stab her?"

I...

Why?

Now that I had calmed down, I felt that my impulse had gotten the better of me just now. No matter how

harsh her words were, they were just...words.

After mulling over it, I looked up at him and replied, "She said that our child died because you

purposely gave me deformity- inducing drugs, and that you didn't intend to have this child in the first

place."

At the time, perhaps it was because of this exact revelation that I lost it, or perhaps it was because of

how she had cursed me.

He frowned. "So, you believed it?"

I nodded, looking right into his eyes. "You had every reason to do that!"

His eyes were cold, frigid even. "So, since you believed it, why don't you stab me with a knife? Yet, you

hurt her instead?"

"You weren't there back then. She was!" I said, staring blankly at him. I wasn't scared of his

indifference.

Hehe!

He sneered and let go of my hand, looking at me with disappointment in his eyes. "Arianna, have you

ever trusted me? No, to be exact, have you ever loved me?"

I held his gaze, my thoughts a little scattered. Had I ever loved him? I couldn't tell whether my feelings

for him were love or not.

He looked at me with deep eyes. He waited for a response for a long time, but I didn't say a word.

He laughed in self-mockery and seemed to already know my answer. He stood up and said

indifferently, "You best head back first. Stay home until Andrea gets out of the emergency room. With

me here, the Moore family can't do anything to you for the time being. Go back!"

Impassive, I opened my mouth and said, "No need. It's an eye for an eye. How the Moore family wants

to punish me is none of your business."

He looked at me, the coldness in his black eyes was enough to kill. He did not speak for a long time.

Not long later, Valerie and Pedro hurried over. Valerie's eyes were red, her gaze anxious.

When she saw Hendrix, she asked in a hurry,

"How's Andrea? Is she okay?"

Hendrix replied calmly and solemnly, "She's still in the OR!"

Pedro was relatively calm. He looked at Hendrix and asked, "Who hurt Andrea?"

Looking at Pedro's urge to kill whoever did this to her, I couldn't help but shiver. But I opened my mouth

before Hendrix could say anything and confessed, "I hurt her!"

Pedro stared at me, his eyes cold and bloodthirsty. He slightly narrowed his eyes, full of fierce anger.

"Miss Reid, it's an eye for an eye. You'd better pray that nothing happens to Andrea."

Hearing what I said, Valerie moved to attack me without hesitation, but Hendrix stopped her in front of

me and said coldly, "Madam Lawson, you'd better wait until your daughter wakes up. Arianna was in

the wrong and there will be legal consequences waiting for her. But till then, you two need to keep

yourselves in check."

Valerie wasn't satisfied, cutting a malevolent glare at me.

The door of the emergency room suddenly opened. A nurse came out and said, "Where are the

patient's relatives? The patient needs a blood transfusion. Please get a blood test immediately as

there's not enough blood in the blood bank."

Valerie and Pedro hurried to follow the doctor for a blood test and came back soon after.

We waited at the door of the emergency room for what felt like an eternity, with Valerie pacing back and

forth anxiously, glaring at me from time to time.

The door of the emergency room finally opened and the nurse who had just taken Valerie and Pedro to

get a blood test emerged. She looked at Valerie and Pedro and frowned. "Are you sure you're the

patient's family?"

Valerie and Pedro were stunned. They asked in confusion, "Yes, we're her parents. How is she?"

The nurse looked at the two of them and asked in confusion, "It's impossible for people with blood type

A and blood type 0 to give birth to a child with blood type B. How could this be? Are the test results

inaccurate?"
