Chapter 440

With that, I stood up and walked out of the hall, not giving Nerissa the chance to argue back.

I heard Hendrix's furious voice from behind me. "Aunt Nerissa, you know that Arianna's sick, and she's

in poor health, so why are you always picking on her? If there's something you're unsatisfied about, you

can vent it out on me. You don't have to make things difficult for her."

I didn't stick around for the rest of the speech. I immediately exited the villa and got in the car.

Hendrix followed me out soon after. When he saw that I was sitting leisurely in the car, he curled his

lips and asked, "Have you calmed down?"

I rolled my eyes at him and didn't say anything more. I started the car and was ready to head straight to

the Granger Group.

He moved quickly into the passenger's seat before looking at me and asked, "Where are we going?"

"To Granger Group!"

He frowned, "To the doctor's."

I pursed my lips and stopped the car. Then, I looked at him and said indifferently, "Get off. I have things

to do."

He leaned his slender body back into the seat and said, "Then let's go to Granger Group to settle your

business first, and then we'll go see a doctor."

"Don't you have your own business to deal with? You're being a little annoying here, Hendrix." Why did

he have to stick with me all day like I was some sort of criminal?

"My mission today is to be with you!"

I tapped my knuckles on the steering wheel. I was getting extremely annoyed, but alas, I had to keep

my anger in check. Looking at him, I said calmly, "Fine, you drive. I don't know the way."

He raised his eyebrows, sat up straight and gave me a kiss on the cheeks. He then said with a smile,

"It's the same if we go see the doctor first before going to the company."

I frowned and patiently waited for him to get out of the car.

He got out of the car and walked around the front to the driver's seat. I watched him reach out to open

the door. Suddenly, I felt a rush of adrenaline within me. I squinted at him and said, "Mr. Roberts, do

take your time!"

After that, I stepped on the accelerator and swiftly took off. In the rearview mirror was Hendrix, still

shell-shocked, standing in place as his expression grew as dark as coal.

I took one last look at him before driving straight to Granger Group.

There wasn't much to do, but I still had to drop by for a quick visit. Without Irvin, the Granger Group

continued to operate normally. After having a quick discussion about work with Sherman, I then left

Aaron called. When I answered the phone, I heard him ask coldly, "Where are you?"

"The Granger Group! What's wrong?" After leaving the office, I was in no hurry to go anywhere. I stood

by the elevator doors while on the phone. The phone line was rather unstable.

His voice sounded a little hoarse, as if he hadn't slept yet. "Give me a few minutes. I'll take you to the

hospital in a moment."

I felt the familiar feeling of annoyance rise up in my chest again. "I'm not going to the hospital."

Hearing my refusal, Aaron got a little angry. "If you don't go to the hospital, what are you going to do

then? You're sick, yet you refuse treatment. Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

This man!

"Aaron, I'm fine physically. Depression only affects my mood, so I'll be fine as long as I can keep it

under control. Don't make a fuss. I'll be busy in a bit. How's everything with the Moore family?" I

changed the subject, not wanting to prolong our conversation about seeing a doctor.

He sounded mad as he said, "I'm making a fuss? You attempted suicide, yet I'm the one making a

fuss? Should I just sit around and wait to visit you at the morgue?"

I scratched my forehead helplessly and tried once again, to change the topic. "About the information I

gave you yesterday, has the Moore family made any moves?"

He sighed quietly, "You! Uncle Charles looked into Arnold and Michael based on the information you

gave and he found a problem. They already left for Ucrebury today."

I nodded and thought for a moment. Then, I said, "On the surface, this looks to have nothing to do with

Valerie. Their interactions with her seem to solely be business-related, so nothing looks out of the

ordinary. However, please remind Uncle Charles to start with Arnold's wife, and soon he'll find out

what's going on between him and Valerie."
