Chapter 429

Heather looked at me and said with hesitation, "Madam, it's quite late now. It's still snowing outside.

Why don't you wait for Mr. Roberts to finish showering to go together with you?"

"There's no need forthat!"

I walked out of the hall and suddenly saw two bodyguards standing by the door like sculptures. I

couldn't help but say aggressively. "Make way!"

The two of them did not speak.

Meanwhile, Heather had already gone upstairs to call Hendrix.

I frowned and couldn't help but feel a surge of anger, but these two strong men were not people I could

deal with alone.

They continued standing stock still and blocked my way.

It didn't take long for Hendrix to make it down. He was wearing a bathrobe, and his short hair was still

dripping with water.

Seeing that I was dressed neatly, he frowned. "Where are you going?"

"Going out!"

"What are you going to do?"

I was a little annoyed. "I'm going to see the doctor!"

He pursed his lips and said, "I'll ask Josiah to come over. Go rest."

"No!" I said. "I'm going to the hospital." Since Irvin's body was taken away and he had no relatives,

Nerissa was the only one who could organize his burial. However, that was definitely something he

would not want.

Thus, only I could do it.

Hendrix's eyes were dark and his lips pressed into a straight line. "What are you going to the hospital

for? Are you using the excuse of being sick to organize Irvin's funeral?"

I looked at him and sneered. "And how is this related to you?"

He nearly returned the sneer and said, "What do you think? Arianna, there are limits to how much

mess you can make. Aunt Nerissa will handle Irvin's funeral, and there are others in the Granger family

too. Why would you go there for? Will you only stop once rumors about you and Irvin spread all around

Jarold City?"

For a moment, I was rendered speechless by his words. I glared at him and finally returned to the villa.

He followed behind me and said in a softer voice, "I'll send someone to take care of Irvin's funeral.

You..."

I stopped abruptly and turned back to look at him. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the winding stairs

behind him.

With anger calling the shots in my head, I raised my hand and gave him a hard push. He had fast

reflexes so he could definitely grab hold of the railing to stop his fall. But unexpectedly, he froze for a

few seconds before he loosened his hand and tumbled down the stairs.

He looked pathetic as he fell, but this did nothing to dim his handsomeness and dignity.

Then, I turned around and went straight back to the bedroom.

I changed into my pajamas and laid on the bed. When he came into the room, his gaze was one ofnovelbin

disappointment, and there were bloodstains on the corners of his mouth and on his forehead. His leg

and elbow were also injured.

After a single glance, I withdrew my gaze, closed my eyes and readied myself for sleep.

Hendrix was not angry, but his gaze grew darker as he walked over, looking at me. He sat by the bed

and said in a deep voice, "Get up and help me apply some ointment!"

I didn't say anything. I just opened my eyes and glanced at him, then I closed them indifferently.

He bent down, lifted the blanket, pressed his slender body on top of me, and nudged my forehead with

his nose. In a low and restrained voice, he said, "Aren't you worried about me?"

I pursed my lips, not saying a single word. Was I concerned?

I was!

But I knew how fit he was, and the fall most likely didn't affect him in any great way. At most, he would

only have minor injuries.

Seeing that I was silent, the corners of his lips curled up into a faint smile. "Do you think that my injuries

are nothing compared to Irvin's death? Is it not even worth your concern?"

My heart trembled slightly, and I felt a little uncomfortable hearing that. "Get off!"

Instead of moving, he pulled at my hand, interlocked our fingers, and kissed me aggressively.

He bit me so hard that I frowned in pain, but I held my tongue and didn't say a word.
