Chapter 427

I moved my stiff feet and walked towards the villa. I didn't go to Hendrix, and my face was frozen to the

point of becoming stiff like wood.

"Sir, Madam is..." Heather was not aware of what had happened and started to say worriedly.

Hendrix's voice was low and calm as he replied indifferently, "It's fine. You may leave!"

Hendrix followed me into the hall and stretched out his hand to grab me. When he touched my ice- cold

hand, his expression turned frighteningly frigid. "Arianna, why are you torturing yourself over him?"

I threw his hand off, and started to feel a strange, disgusted emotion rising in my heart. "Let me go!"

Hendrix's thin lips were tightly pursed, and his handsome face looked tense.

He stood in front of me, and his gaze was horribly dark. He suddenly picked me up, went straight to the

bedroom on the second floor, and put me in the bathroom.

He turned the heating on in the bathroom, and it was so warm that it made me feel somewhat dizzy.

Hendrix saw that I was lost in my thoughts with my eyes unmoving. Then, he reached out his hands

and helped me undress.

"Arianna, everyone has their own fate. Don't torture yourself over this, okay?" He spoke in an icy and

indifferent voice.

I felt a rush of resentment coursing through my veins. What did he mean by "everyone has their own

fate"? I reached out and pushed him away with my hand. I yelled coldly, "Get out!"

Hendrix was stunned for a moment by my sudden outburst. He narrowed his eyes slightly and said,

"Arianna, you're my wife!"

"So what?" I roared. "It's true that I am your wife, but you didn't have the power to protect me or my

child. Irvin did all of that. Without him, do you think I'd still be alive? Hendrix, to put it bluntly, I would benovelbin

dead by now if it weren't for him."

"I really shouldn't have come back with you." My chest puffed as I spoke. "Every single person in the

Roberts family is colder and crueler than the other. Nerissa killed the happy Granger family with her

own hands. You killed your own child and hurt your wife. You wear the cloak of a good person, yet did

all sorts of heartless things. You're more horrifying than Valerie. It's disgusting!"

He pursed his lips, and his pupils contracted with a hidden, terrifying coldness. Even the heating in the

bathroom was no match for the chill that had seeped into my skin from his gaze.

He held my wrist and said, "You always think the Roberts family is worthless. Why? Has the Granger

family made you feel sorry for them? Irvin's dead, and now you place all that hatred on me. Irvin has

truly done well for himself!"

I looked at him, but I didn't have the strength to quarrel with him anymore. I suppressed the aching in

my heart and said coldly, "I don't want to see you."

Thinking of how Nerissa had asked me to make good luck charms for the Granger family recently, I felt

even more guilty. She knew perfectly well from the start that Irvin hated her, and was worried that Irvin

would do something to her, so she had me stay in the Granger Manor and to keep her company.

However, she was just trying to use me as a shield. She knew that Irvin would not hurt me, and would

absolutely not let me witness bloodshed, so she kept me by her side. Even at the last moment, Irvin

had swerved his car to protect me.

I didn't want to hurt anyone, but in the end, I hurt so many people. All their deaths and their wounds

were inflicted by me.

Hendrix looked at me with an unfathomable gaze. After a long while, he sighed and said, "I know you

feel guilty about Irvin's death, but Arianna, nobody hurt him. He made the choice to crash the car."
