Chapter 395

He said calmly, "I'll dry your hair for you!"

I...

After my hair was all dried up, he finally made a move to leave.

As soon as I saw him leaving the house, I went straight to the office. I was planning to talk to Irvin

about the Al issue. The project had just started and I still had many things about it that I hadn't quite

figured out yet. So, I wanted to talk to him about them in detail.

However, after searching around for him, I heard from his assistant that he had gone to the hospital as

Yohannes was in dire condition.

I called up Irvin several times, but he didn't pick up. Since I didn't know what was going on, I decided to

give Nerissa a call.

When she picked up, heart-wrenching cries could be heard in the background, but it did not come from

Nerissa.

I quietly asked, "Mrs. Roberts, how's Uncle Granger doing?"

"Please inform Hendrix that he had just passed. Tell him to come to the hospital with you. As for his

funeral, ask Irvin to discuss it with him." Nerissa's voice was so calm, she almost sounded emotionless.

I was stunned by the news for a moment and couldn't react. Yohannes...had passed?

Wasn't he doing just fine before?

After asking for the hospital's address, I went straight over. Hendrix didn't answer the phone as he was

busy. So, I only sent him a message informing him of the address before I went over.

When I arrived at the hospital, Yohannes had already taken his last breath. I saw Helen leading against

the ward door, her body limp and weak. Her face was a haggard mess and she looked lifeless,

soulless.

I didn't know where Nerissa and Irvin had gone, but Helen must have heard movements from me as

she raised her head to look at me. I did not know why but she suddenly lunged at me and pushed me

to the ground, shouting, "Every one of you Roberts are rotten people. Your aunt took my husband

away, and you took my son away. All of you - rotten!"

Helen exploded with emotions as she dragged me around, hit me and cursed at me. I was not on my

guard. She caught me off guard and exerted all her strength to hold me down, so I couldn't do much to

defend myself as I was pressed to the ground. She scratched at my face and neck until crimson could

be seen.

She was in the midst of pulling my hair when the nurse next to her stepped forward to pull her away.

She must have suffered quite a blow for her to act so deranged. She screamed at me with desperation

and despair in her voice, "Karma will get you, Roberts! None of you will be safe! Nerissa, don't thinknovelbin

that you've won just because you've got the rights to the Granger Group's inheritance. I will fight you till

the end of my life. You won't die in peace."

Irvin had gone to deal with Yohannes' death records. When he came back, he looked at me and asked,

"What's wrong?"

Helen had given me quite a fright, so I was at a loss for words for a moment, not knowing how to

respond. Finally, I looked at him, shook my head, and said, "I don't know either. She was already like

this when I arrived. Perhaps she's grieving."

Soon, Nerissa had also arrived. She looked at Helen who was all deranged and frowned. She glanced

at me and asked, "Are you alright?"

I shook my head and couldn't help but to worry about Irvin. His father had just passed away while his

mother was acting like this. He always looked calm on the surface but I didn't know what was going on

in his mind.

Yohannes' body had been sent to the funeral parlor to be cremated. The burial date was set for the

following month. Once Irvin had settled everything, he sent Helen away.

Irvin looked at Nerissa and said quietly, "My father has handed over the management rights of the

Granger Group to you. I will return to the company as soon as possible for the handover, and then back

to Mesville."

Nerissa nodded, looking calm and collected.

I hesitated for a few seconds before I realized that it was Yohannes who had handed over the Granger

Group to Nerissa. For a moment, I couldn't understand this. Irvin was Yohannes's own son, so why

would he...

After saying that, Irvin walked out of the hospital, fatigue evident on his face. I followed him, and did not

know how to comfort him. So, I just asked, "Irvin, have you eaten anything yet?"
