Chapter 389

In all honesty, I knew that he didn't do anything wrong. All he did was being a little harsh on me, and

not being able to hold himself back during those intimate moments we shared.

Still, I was angry

Seeing that I was silent, he sighed and said, "Arianna, you are the only woman in my life, and I am a

man. But it was still wrong of me to not hold myself back and hurt you. I will be more mindful of this in

the future. I won't repeat the same mistake."

"So, do you think that I should forgive you?" He had been able to control himself for the past few years.

Why couldn't he control himself now?

What kind of excuse was that?

He sighed and then laughed. "Well, that's fair. One shouldn't be forgiven for what I did. When you are

well enough, you can hit me to relieve your anger and frustration."

I rolled my eyes at him and went back to sleep.

He hugged me, leaned his head against my shoulder, and whispered, "Arianna, I'd get angry and

jealous seeing someone approaching you. If you turned a blind eye to me and pushed me to someone

else, I would also feel sad. Could you please not do that anymore? I'm your husband, not an object."

His voice was low, but very gentle. He also sounded sleepy. But it was plain to see that he was trying

his best to ease things between us.

Since he had comforted me like this, I couldn't bring myself to stay mad at him any longer.

After a pause, I pursed my lips and turned to him. "I'm still in pain, and I'm sleepy but I don't think I can

fall asleep anymore."

He pulled me closer for a hug and said, "I know. Close your eyes, empty your mind, and you will fall

asleep in a moment."

Mm...

The next time I opened my eyes, it was already the next day.

I assumed that Hendrix would leave for work, but when I woke up, he was still lying in bed, with his

eyes shut. A little shadow fell upon his nose bridge, which made his nose look elegantly straight, with a

short stubble under the chin. Perhaps he hadn't shaved because he had stayed up late the night

before.

I gazed at him as he slept, thinking to myself how handsome he looked. He was not as cold as he used

to be.

I had slept very well that night and my mind was in a much better place when I woke up. I got up to get

myself clean.

Perhaps I was making too much noise because a second later, Hendrix woke up, stretched his arms

out to pull me back into bed. He then gently positioned my head on his arm.

He gave me a gentle kiss on my forehead and said magnetically, "You're awake."

I nodded, looking at him. "Why aren't you at the office?"

He rubbed his chin on my face, and the stubble made my skin itch. "It's the end of the year, so things at

work are about to get busy, and I won't be able to spend much time with you in the coming few days.

Since I didn't have much to do today, I thought I'd keep you company while you rest."

I pursed my lips and said, "But I have to go to the office today!" Fantasia Company and the Granger

Group had officially commenced work. Although I was only responsible for progress check-ins, I still

had to give the work more attention.

"I'll go with you!" He offered.

I was taken aback. "Huh? What do you mean by that?"

He raised his brows and kissed me on the lips. "Is there a rule in your company that says you're not

allowed to bring along your husband to work?"

Indeed, there was none!

But!

After a pause, I looked at him and said, "I'm afraid it will be inconvenient for you to come along!" He

was too good-looking for his own good, and had a great reputation to back. If he followed me to the

office, the gossip would never end.

"It's okay, I can be flexible, and I'll do my best to make your day as smooth as possible!"

I...

What else could I say to that?novelbin
