Chapter 344

I curled my lips. He had gotten better at bantering.

When I was about to banter right back, my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and saw that it was

Aaron.

Seeing that both Hendrix and Josiah were looking at me, I said indifferently, "I have to take this."

When Hendrix saw that the caller ID was Aaron, he slightly narrowed his eyes and said, "Just answer it

right here!"

Lame!

I rolled my eyes at him and answered the phone. "What's the matter, Aaron?"

"It seemed that Hendrix is interested in Fantasia Company. We've been secretly competing with each

other for a long time, and I've let go of this case. There's a high possibility that he'll get the case. What

you have to do now is to find a way to persuade Hendrix to give up the idea of acquiring Fantasia

Company." His voice was not loud, but the hall was quiet, so Hendrix and Josiah could hear him clearly.

Looking at the two of them, I said to the phone, "Okay, I've got to go."

"Don't!" Aaron hurriedly said, "Uncle Charles probably took you in as his goddaughter for some PR-

related reason in Jarold City. You'd better keep a distance from Irvin. Besides, you have to go back tonovelbin

Ucrebury to deal with the matter with Fantasia Company as soon as possible. Uncle Charles will be

leaving for the rest of the country for work. When you join the family, you can take this opportunity to do

what you want!"

Hendrix looked at me, and the corners of his mouth curled up into a cold smile.

I ignored his expression and said to the phone, "Okay, got it. Bye."

After hanging up the phone, Hendrix looked at me. He was already moody before but he looked even

grimmer now. "What are you trying to do? You even got Charles involved?"

"I want to..." Get a divorce!

I stopped in the middle of my sentence. I still had to ask him to give up Fantasia Company's

acquisition. If I went against him, it would be difficult getting through to him during the discussion later.

Looking at Josiah, I asked, "Doctor Saunders, shall we dine together?"

Josiah glanced at Hendrix and he looked to be in a poor mood. The corners of Josiah's mouth lifted

and he nodded, "Sure. I'm hungry too."

We went to the kitchen together. Minnie had cooked a lot of delicious- looking dishes. Hendrix came in

not long after.

Both men sat next to me, eating without speaking per the table etiquettes they learned from their family.

After the meal, Minnie cleaned up the kitchen, and I sat beside Josiah. I reached out my hand

proactively to him and said, "I've been suffering from insomnia, headache, and heart palpitations lately.

Can you check what's wrong with me?"

Josiah's lips curled into a smile. He glanced at Hendrix, who had remained silent the entire time, before

raising his eyebrows to look at me. "Sure!"

After checking my pulse rate, he said seriously, "There are too many illnesses. Your gastroesophageal

is quite serious, so you should watch your diet. You have a weak heart rate due to insomnia, and your

heart's not looking too good either. By the looks of it, your blood deficiency should be caused by a lack

of rest after giving birth. These illnesses need to be nursed by yourself."

I nodded and withdrew my hand. When I saw him lower his head, prescribing me some medicine, I

looked up at Hendrix and said with a faint smile, "Aren't you going to let Doctor Saunders have a look?"

Hendrix pursed his lips and asked, "I hope you're having fun."

I raised my eyebrows and shrugged my shoulders at him.

Josiah hesitated for a long time before he left. It seemed that he had something to tell me, so I

proposed to see him off.

At the door of the villa, he took the initiative to ask, "Arianna, has Monique contacted you recently?"

I was stunned and shook my head. "No!" Thinking of the child, I couldn't help saying, "You haven't seen

her recently?"

He nodded. "If you see her, please let me know!"

I hummed in response, thinking about whether he knew that Monique had a child. He had been busy

with me all this while, so he had no time to attend to Monique. I had no idea how she was doing at the

moment.
