Chapter 1702

After getting out of the car, the only light that could be seen was the headlights of the car, and the candlelight shining out of the castle gate. Theboundless darkness around us seemed about to swallow us at any moment. The cold winter wind whistled by, and the candlelight swayed in thebreeze. It seemed like the whole castle was crumbling.

Through the crack of the door, I could see a familiar figure standing in the lobby. The man was wearing a black cloak and staring up at the Jesusportrait on the wall. No one knew what he was thinking.

Noticing our movement, the man turned around. The moment our eyes met, I frowned and didn't want to believe what I was seeing."Irvin?" Did he deliberately lure me here?

After a year's separation, he seemed to have become a different person. His whole chin was covered in stubble, which made him look even moremasculine.

"Finally, we meet again." Irvin's voice was hoarse. He stared at my face, his gaze blank as if he was looking at someone else

I felt a little strange being stared like this and asked, "Were you also brought here?"

"Ha, you're so naive." The woman laughed sarcastically and then said to the bodyguard behind her, "Go upstairs. The doctor is waiting.""I'l leave her to you." After saying this to Irvin, the woman went upstairs with the bodyguard.

As soon as they left, only the two of us were left in the hall. The door behind them was closed by the servants, and the north wind was gone. It wassilent

"Follow me." After saying that, Irvin walked to a flight of stairs opposite the one the woman and the bodyguard had climbed.Although I was curious, I still followed him obediently.

There were many rooms on the second floor. Irvin led me all the way down the corridor and finally stopped. He opened the door on the right andstood aside. "This is your room. Have a good rest tonight.”

I walked in antooked around. Theroom was hilge, with candles on thewall. On the-opposite side, there wasa European- styled bed, with a laptopplacegnext to it, which stuck outquitea bit among the other things I inthecastle. Content belongs toNovelDrama.Org =

Hearing footsteps behind me, I immediately stopped Irvin, who was about to leave, and said, "Wait!"

He was half a head taller than me, and his shoulders were exceptionally broad. His shadow almost covered me completely, making my small framelook ridiculous.

"Do you have anything to say?" I locked up and asked himIrvin lowered his gaze and looked down at me without any emotion in his eyes. "What do you want me to say?"Contents belong to NovelDrama.Org

This made me feel very uncomfortable. I didn't understand why he was suddenly acting so cold, but I had to find my baby's whereabouts.

I put down-my hand, sighed, and -.tried to calm down. "Why are yousofamiliar with the people here? Whereis my baby, Shirley and Dannie? Youdon’ t seem to be worried atall.”Content belongs to NovelDrama.Org

Irvin furrowedhis eyebrows slightlyand tilted histhead to glance at thelaptop in the bedroom. “Check the ~~laptop. [thad all the information >about your baby's current situation.Stayhere, and you'll receive updatesevery day." Content belongs toNovelDrama.Org =

I looked at him and then turned to glance at the laptop. From the looks of it, Irvin knew everything about my child

I suddenly felt a twinge of resentment in my heart. Indeed, I was risking my life for the sake of my child, but I was worried about Irvin's safety as wellI gritted my teeth, lowered my eyes. and muttered to myself, "Why did you do that?"

The room suddenly fell into silence. Only the sound of candlelight flickering in the wind was heard.

After a long while, Irvin's voice rang out again. "You're tired. Go to bed early.”

"Irvin!" I was so angry and anxious by the fact he kept pretending nothing was wrong.
