Chapter 1669

Frightened by his expression, I knew that I wouldn't get the truth, and stopped asking. The car stopped after more than half an hour.

The Forbes family was definitely well-known for being a real estate company. The villa was located in a winery with the best scenery in the suburbs.and it looked like a castle from a distance. It was not yet seven o' clock. The heating lamps around were turned on, and jets of water from the fountainwere squirting in the light. They were like elves in the night, which made the whole castle seem mysterious and solemn.

The Roberts were the richest family in Ucrebury. The villa was decent, even for Jarold City. But after getting out of the car, I could feel the solemnnessbrought by the Forbes's villa, and it was then that the gap between Ucrebury and Jarold City occurred to me.

As usual, Aaron took my arm and walked onto the red carpet, with Hendrix following behind us.

Valerie and Pedro had arrived. When we entered the room, they were having a lively conversation.

When Valerie spotted us, she stood up and welcomed us. “You're here."

With her approaching, Aaron naturally let go of my hand and slowed down his pace to keep pace with Hendrix.

The others stood up one after another. They were well- mannered. After some introductions, I spotted Eddison, who was feared by Pedro andCharles.

He was sitting on the sofa opposite me, dressed in simple attire, with silver hair and a folding fan in his hand. He looked kind and amiable, smiling ateveryone, which was completely different from what I imagined. The manners and temperament of him being an elite were discernible.

Not long after chatting. we sat at the table. Aaron insisted on sitting next to me that day and I didn't know why, so Hendrix had to sit between Elijahand Pedro.

The position of people's seats at the banquet often determined their status. That day was obviously a party for the Forbes family, yet Eddison wassitting in the head seat. Obviously. the Forbes family respected him very much.

After the wine was poured into the glass, Eddison picked up the small spoon in front of him and knocked on the wine glass. The clear tinkling soundimmediately attracted everyone's attention.

He said, “Here, let's raise our glasses together, for Mr. Roberts and Mr. Forbes’ friendship, and them resolving their argument."

It was unexpected that he was the peacemaker.

The Forbes family was underEddison, so Elijah and his wifegenerously aécommodated him. They Immediate y held up the wine, glasses, fating Hendrix, and tooktheead intowerl ng their stance. "MrRobetts, believed that each ofushad Some parts to play in aurretsunderstanding previously. Afterour toast, from now on, the Forbesfamily and the Roberts family areriends, and we are fair in business. What do you think?" Contentbelongs to NovelDrama.Orgnovelbin

Hendrix's face was icy. Before hecould speak, Eddison interruptedhim and praised him exaggeratedly. The Roberts Group and the Fo besGroup até both solid companies in”Jarold-City. As seniors, I'm really”impressed that you two can. putaside your personal grudges andwérk hard for the overallgituation, tomake great contributions to JaroldCity. Eddison's face was full of emotion. He picked up his glass, walked to Elijah, and flattered him, "Mr. Forbes, I'm toasting to you. Thank you for yourgenerosity!”

Since he was Standing, Elijah

naturally didtiot dare to sit down. He

got up quickly, inclined his glass, half

a glass lc lower than Eddison's, and

touched it gently. "Thanks, Mr.< o

Gavin. I'm flattered. It's our duty to

retin the favor to Society. “Content

As the two people were flattering each other, people who didn’t know the truth would've thought that this was their exclusive complimenting banquet. It seemed that as long as they made a decision, the matter would be settled.

Just as they were prepared to draw a conclusion and finished all the wine in their glasses, an unpleasant voice was heard.

"The victim is from the Reid family, but Mr. Forbes and Mr. Gavlin have only chosen to make peace with Mr. Roberts. What about the Reid family?”
