Chapter 1596

Hendrix had always been that way. He did things flawlessly, leaving no chance for his opponent toreact at all.

Sean got up and made a phone call. After returning, he accepted Hendrix's conditions as expected. After signing the agreement, he left with his assistants as if they had lost a battle.novelbin

As soon as they left, it was only me and Hendrix left in the conference room.

"Stop pretending. There's no one here anymore." I reached out and slapped Hendrix's hand off mybelly. "Don't take advantage of me!"

Hendrix shrugged his shoulders resentfully. Obviously, he was not happy. Men were never satisfied.

I thought about the unwilling look in Sean's eyes when he left the conference room, and compared itto when I first met him as he came gentlemanly. He looked completely different, making me feelflustered. I still felt that GW Group was not that simple. I couldn't help but doubt our futurecollaboration, asking, "Are you really going to continue working with them?" "What do you think?"Hendrix replied as he leaned back in his chair casually.

Guessing each other's thoughts seemed to have become a common thing between the two of us. Isighed and reluctantly went along with him, saying, "I think you don't seem to have any otherchoices since the agreement has been made?"

Hendrix laughed, "You said that you didn't want to see me anymore, but now you're still hanging outwith me in bed every day, right?"

"Hendrix Roberts!" I picked up the only thing on the table, which was a fountain pen, and threw it athim with a deadly glare.

Ever since we had been together, Hendrix had become more and more shameless!

Hendrix was quick to catch it. He swirled it in his hand like it was a toy. He was not threatened byme at all. Instead, he said casually with a hint of smug, "The agreement only says to prioritize GWGroup. It doesn't mention that Roberts Group will definitely cooperate with them. If there's a betterchoice at that time, we'll just have to say that the two company's vision differs, or just any otherexcuse to get rid of them. What's there to worry about?"

"So you're just fooling around with them?" I was a little surprised.

Who could have a say in the ever- changing business world? If one wanted to make sure everythingwas under control, he had to have high adaptability. I had seen Hendrix speak in a strict manner orlowering his stance in the face of those big companies, but it was the first time I saw him making afool of them. It was quite interesting.

"Who says that the boss of a listed company can't go back on things?" he said. Hendrix got up andcarefully protected me as we walked outside, as if I was really pregnant. As we walked, hecontinued to say, "Do you really think that GW Group is any better than me for giving in so much? The truth is, even the tiniest share of a listed company can make a big difference in terms ofauthority. If I give in 15%, I can still be in control. If I give up 5% more, I would have to worryendlessly that they might be able to fully take control of Roberts Group. When it comes to this kindof matter, I am more careful than anyone else. GW Group is the one who's framing us. I have giventhem a verbal agreement, which is more than enough to avoid a conflict between the twocompanies."

I nodded thoughtfully. Even though there were some areas I didn't quite understand, there was onething that I definitely agreed with. Judging from Sean's true side, he was indeed no different from abandit. Collaborating with someone like that would get us into big trouble sooner or later.

While we were talking, we had already arrived at the elevator. Estella was also following us andpressed the elevator button for us.

The matter with GW Group finally came to an end, and I had nothing more to worry about. I wentalong with Hendrix's instructions and returned home.

In the car, Estella sat next to the driver while I sat alone in the back seat. Although we had quite agood relationship before, no one spoke to each other on the road that day.
