Chapter 1572

Kissing, hugging, and so much more than that...

After nearly two hours, Hendrix finally let go of me with satisfaction.

As soon as I laid down to rest, I heard the sound of showering coming from the bathroom. It wasHendrix, who'd gone to take a shower. Thinking that he would be busy working tomorrow, I stackedmy pillows a little higher and waited for him to finish showering so we could go to bed together.

Before long, Hendrix came out in a bathrobe, but he went straight into the cloakroom instead. Whenhe came out, he was already dressed in a suit.

"Are you going back to the office?" Amos had made an appointment with Hendrix at nine o'clock inthe morning. If he went back to work at this hour, he probably wouldn't be back early. I was reallyworried that he would not have enough sleep, having to spend time going back and forth betweenour house and his company.

Hendrix walked to the bed and bent down to kiss me on the forehead. He said softly, "There aresome issues that have to be dealt with tonight. You go to sleep first."

"Okay." I sighed. I knew that I couldn't be a stumbling block in his career, but I still couldn't helpreminding him, "Come back early, don't spend the night in the office, you'll catch a cold."

Hendrix laughed. "Don't worry. I'm full of strength now. I can stay up all night."

I blushed and pretended to urge him out. "Go, go, come back early."

Hendrix nodded and left the room with his phone.

As soon as he left, the house quieted down, and I didn't feel sleepy anymore.

Glancing at the time, I realized it was only eleven o'clock, and the most exciting part of the night hadjust started.

Thinking of Amos' advice, I put on my clothes and got out of bed. I took my medicine for today witha glass of warm water and threw out the previous medications that I'd taken to nourish my body.

The prescription would not last long, and they might end up going bad if I kept them any longer. Ifthat happened, these medicines would be useless, no matter which doctor prescribed them to me.

I suddenly remembered that Anne had a habit of untucking herself during sleep, so I simplywrapped myself with a jacket and went to her room to check on her. When I saw that her body wasproperly covered with the quilt, I was relieved.

I was still clear-headed when I returned back to the bedroom. I leaned against the headboard andspent some time on my phone.

A few minutes later, Freya sent me a message.

{Lonely wildcat waiting for someone to talk to?}

I laughed at her. She was already a mother, yet she was still so indiscreet when she talked. Ireplied, {What's the price?}

After sending the message, I couldn't help laughing.

This was not something that two mothers should be talking about.

Almost immediately, Freya called me on the phone and asked, "What's wrong with you? Are youalone tonight, like me?"

I laughed. Sometimes, I really felt that she was a humorous person. "Professor Holt isn't home?"

She complained, "Don't mention it. He'd already left for the meeting. I just don't understand whythey don't want to stay at home and enjoy their free time during the holidays. Do intellectuals havedifferent brain structures compared to normal people?"

This was exactly what Freya was thinking. Her mouth was not forgiving, but she had a warm heart.She probably just couldn't bear to part with Zachary. I teased her, "Professor Holt is young andpromising, and he's so handsome. Aren't you afraid young women will target him if you don't goalong with him to his meeting?"

Men in their thirties were more popular than young people in their twenties. At this age, men weremore mature and stable, and they had achieved a lot in their careers. For people like Zachary, histhoughtful personality would definitely attract many young girls who admired him.

I often felt that Zachary, who taught in a college, was more attractive to girls compared to Hendrix.novelbin
