Chapter 1569

"I know what I'm doing. You just need to take good care of your body, I'll settle the rest. Rememberto eat the medicine after your meals, never on an empty stomach. Also, stop taking the medicinethat Auntie gave you," Hendrix said.

He seemed a little long- winded. However, I couldn't help pulling the corner of my mouth up into asmile and nodding. "Got it. You go back to your work first," I replied.

After that, I hung up the phone and said in the direction of the kitchen, "Madam Parker, let's haveour dinner. Hendrix won't come back for dinner tonight."

Soon, Minnie set the table and dinner was served.

Anne had a good appetite. She had finished all the rice in her bowl, insisting on peeling the shrimpon her own. As a result, both of her hands were stained with the juices of the shrimp head.

After eating and playing with Anne for a while, I coaxed her to sleep. She was very tired and fellasleep quickly.

Seeing that it was still early, I guessed that there was no one else in the Roberts Group and thereweren't any good food deliveries nearby the building either, so I asked Minnie to heat up a fewdishes and drove to the company to meet Hendrix.

Even though it was winter, there was a huge contrast in the temperature of Jarold City duringdaytime and nighttime. I was still shivering despite already having on a thick sweater. When I gotout of the car, I ducked into my clothes and quickly ran to the office building where the RobertsGroup was located.

There was no one around at that time, apart from a security guard downstairs. He still recognizedme, and he let me enter the office after a few greetings.

Upon entering the Roberts Group building, there was only one row of fluorescent lights that hadbeen turned on. The whole office felt a little desolate at that moment.novelbin

I could still remember where Hendrix's office was located, so I walked towards that direction with alunch box in my hand. At the entrance, I could hear the tender voice of a woman speaking.

The woman asked, "Mr. Roberts, you haven't taken your dinner yet, right? There is a Japaneserestaurant located opposite our company. Why don't we go there to grab our dinner first, and thencome back to work overtime?"

The voice was very familiar. I tilted my neck subconsciously and caught a glimpse of Estella.Hendrix looked up at that moment and noticed me.

He was about to respond to Estella, but upon seeing me, he immediately got up and walkedtowards me. He then asked, "Why are you here? It's cold outside. Why aren't you wearing moreclothes?"

"Bringing some dinner for Mr. Roberts," I replied while raising the grey lunch box in my hand. Steamcame out of my mouth as I spoke.

Taking a glance at the lunch box, he placed it aside and then held my hands in his palm. He teasedme, "Thank you for your efforts, Mrs. Roberts."

I pouted and didn't give him any response.

Estella found a time to interject, and greeted me respectfully. After that, she said to Hendrix, "I'll goout first, Mr. Roberts."

After that, she squeezed herself out from next to me and left the office.

I stared at her retreating figure. To be honest, she looked a little embarrassed.

Hendrix also glanced in the same direction. However, he obviously could not grasp what I wasstaring at. He then asked, "What are you looking at?" "Nothing, you eat first," I replied. I let go of hishand and took the lunch box to the tea table.

Hendrix was indeed hungry. He was not picky about food at all. He placed the rice in front of him,and ate all the four dishes that I'd prepared for him. He enjoyed the food in a slow and gentle waythat was very pleasing to watch.

As he was having his dinner, I got up and walked around the office. Seeing the documents on thedesk, I picked one up and flipped through it casually.

"The GW Investment Bank of Mesville was established in the year 1920, it is one of the top 100investment groups in the world. The group assets haven't been completely calculated yet, but theinvestment fund is estimated to be over 100 billion..."

I couldn't help feeling shocked when I read this in a low voice. Where did Hendrix get such atycoon? "Hendrix Roberts," I called. I raised the document in my hand and asked him, "Are you surethat the GW Group wants to collaborate with Roberts Group, instead of buying you out?"
