Chapter 1566

"It's that urgent?" I asked. I didn't know how to react at that moment. "But we'll only be back to worktomorrow, isn't that right?" I continued asking.

Hendrix glanced at me patiently and then turned his head to focus on driving. He said, "Arianna, foreigners don't celebrate the new year. Furthermore, there will never be a fixed break forbusinesses. We can't let go of the opportunity that has come to our door. Although Roberts Group isnow on the right track, it doesn't indicate that we can stop working hard. Instead, we should enter amarket with bigger capital. Or else, we will be engulfed by other companies."

I understood what he meant. The Roberts Group came all the way from Ucrebury and finallymanaged to gain a strong foundation in Jarold City. The company could only continue to develop, and there was no turning back.

"Thank you for your hard work," I said. I suddenly felt sorry for Hendrix. The corners of my lipscurled up as I spoke shyly.

The new year was also the most tiring period. Hendrix finally got a holiday. However, he had toaccompany me to visit two hospitals in the morning, while in the afternoon, he had to rush back tothe company to deal with his business, like a spinning top.

Hendrix's eyes suddenly lit up with pride as he muttered to himself. He said, "It seems like someonecan't bear to part with me. Should I just decline the appointment?"

I rolled my eyes at him and replied, "Don't flatter yourself. Who can't bear it? I am not your excusefor being lazy."

Hendrix laughed, so did I. However, I turned my face to the other side and looked out the window.

The sky in Jarold City was always foggy, it seemed like there was a layer of smog. It lookedoverwhelming.

Dr. Jules mentioned that the possibility of getting pregnant should be confirmed in three months. Itwas hard to indicate whether it was good or bad. However, the treatment process had alreadybegun.

People often said that the days after the age of 20 passed in the blink of an eye. Anne had grownup almost overnight, so three months didn't sound too long to me.

If I still could not get pregnant after ninety days, what else could I pursue in my life?

I was in a daze again.novelbin

Hendrix insisted on sending me into the house before he left. Holding each other's hand, weentered our house together.

At the entrance, we could hear Anne's voice.

"Oliver, I have a lot of pocket money, do you want me to buy you candies?"

"Grandaunt! Let Oliver stay here and play with me, okay?"

It was Freya and Zachary.

When we walked into the house, we saw Freya teasing Anne. She said, "Anne likes Oliver so much.Do you want to have a little brother of your own?"

I could only sigh helplessly. As I walked over, I started complaining. I said, "You're trying so hard topersuade me to give birth. I think you should ask Professor Holt to work a little harder, so you twocan have another child while you both are still young."

Hearing my voice, Anne, who was holding a lollipop in her hand, ran to me and called, "Mom!"

She only realized Hendrix was with me after running to my side. She then greeted him obediently,"Dad!"

I picked her up and sat her down on the sofa. I took a piece of tissue and wiped the sugar stains onthe corners of her mouth. I asked, "Didn't you promise me that you would only eat a lollipop onceevery two days? Otherwise, you will get tooth decay. Why don't you remember?"

Children had no resistance to sweets. They could easily overindulge if you didn't pay muchattention.

She pouted, feeling a little wronged. She explained, "Grandaunt gave it to me. Grandaunt said thatchildren get to eat more candy during the new year!"

Prey a interjected, "It's just a lollipop. It doesn't matter. If she likes it, just let her. It'll limit her nature,if you try to control everything."
