Chapter 1559

Glancing at my weary face, Hendrix passed Anne over to me.

Anne was smart. She immediately reached out her little hands and looked at me as she said, "Mom,hug me!"

No one could resist laughing when face to face with such an angel. I quickly put her on my lap andasked her with a smile, "Anne, from now on, we will come back every year to visit your Granduncleand the others, okay?"

"That's good! Then I'll get a lot of pocket money!" Anne replied. She clapped her hands together, and her eyes narrowed into slits as she giggled.

"Little money- grubber!" I teased. I pinched her nose gently and teased Hendrix, "I wonder who shepicked that up from?"novelbin

Monique had opened a bar and bought a house. She was a high-flying career woman, and moneymanagement was not a big deal for her. However, it was clear enough that in her mind, money wasnot everything. She had learned how to manage her money just for the sake of better survival.

As for Josiah, it was even more impossible for Anne to pick that up from him. The Saunders Familyhad once dominated the entire daily necessities industry. That family was wealthy enough. Apartfrom facial features, there was no similarity between Anne and him.

Hendrix could not help chuckling, and turned his head to glance at us. He reached out his hand andrubbed Anne's head. His gaze was so gentle. However, he did not reply.

Looking at him, I suddenly had a mental image of Hendrix holding our children. What Aunt Nerissahad told me about in vitro fertilization made my desire even stronger.

That night, we returned to Jarold City. We had our dinner together with Valerie and Pedro, to makeup for New Year's Eve dinner.

On the way home, Anne fell asleep on Hendrix's shoulder. After tucking her in, we went back to ourroom to wash up and call it a night.

After a day of running around, I was a little exhausted. However, while waiting for Hendrix, who wastaking his shower, I turned on my computer to search for some information about in vitro fertilization.

"What are you reading?"

I was so focused that I didn't even hear Hendrix approaching me. I was truly shocked when I heardhis deep voice coming from above my head.

I quickly turned off the computer screen and pretended as nothing had happened. "Nothing, haveyou finished showering?" I asked him.

I was not sure if he had seen what I was looking at. In the report that I had just read, the successrate of producing a viable fetus through in vitro fertilization was as high as 60%, provided themother was in good health. That was the standard for a healthy and mature woman. However, itwas obvious that I could not achieve this level of success.

"Mmm," Hendrix murmured. He did not delve too deeply into it. He placed a glass of warm waterand a bottle cap that had been filled with pills on the table.

Nerissa was very concerned about us, especially when it came to my pregnancy. On the secondday of the new year, she took me to visit a doctor. The doctor claimed that I was not in good healthand that it would take a long time for me to recuperate. But, of course, there was also a shortcut.Taking medications on a daily basis would help me have a chance of getting pregnant again before

the age of 30. These pills were prescribed by that doctor, and I had been taking them continuouslyfor a week.

As usual, I swallowed the pills and finished the glass of water. Hendrix then carried me onto the

bed.

The next couple of days were public holidays, so Hendrix and I brought Anne to visit our relatives.

We first visited the Reid Family. Little Anne received some pocket money from Charles. She was soexcited that she even danced with joy, making everyone laugh out loud.

Emma had started dressing differently and tied up her long hair. She looked much more maturethan before. She and Aaron made a lot of eye contact. They claimed that they had gotten marriedbecause they thought they were compatible, but I felt that it was more than that.
