Chapter 1475

The people around laughed. Suddenly, a child appeared and surreptitiously set down one of thesatin flower garlands that Ethan's parents had made themselves next to Hendrix. It was obvious thathe was hinting at something.

Hendrix took the flower garland. Perhaps he felt that it was inappropriate, after a split second, hegot up and left the room. The guests in the hall were all surprised by his sudden leave.

Fortunately, he came back a few minutes later with a large bouquet of roses in his hand. The freshroses looked vibrant. It was quite a sight for a handsome man to be holding such a large bouquet.

He walked towards me, got down on one knee, and said affectionately, "Arianna, I'm not a smartman, but I want to give you everything I have. I will continue to love you in the way I know how, andlearn how to love you more and more each day. I still have a long way to go in life, but I'm hopingthat you will be there with me, every single step of the way."

I held back my laughter. It was a rare sight to see Hendrix, who was usually quiet and impassive, speaking so much all of a sudden. This was probably the longest I've ever seen him speak!

"Arianna, why are you still in a daze? Hold out your hand and accept the ring!" Yana urged meimpatiently. Before I could even react, Yana was behind me, raising my arm.

Hendrix slid the ring onto my finger. Immediately, the crowd erupted into deafening applause, as ifgiving us all of their blessings.

The wedding was really lively, and all of us were happy.

The wedding ceremony went on until late at night, and the sky was getting darker and darker. Afterall the guests had left, Yana held my hand and tried to persuade me to stay in the suburbs for one

night. Hendrix was holding my hand. Although he didn't say anything, I knew that he was not usedto spending the night out.

So I refused her invitation politely. Yana saw me off at the gate and chatted a bit more with me. Justas I was about to leave, I paused for a while, looked at her and said, "Yana, Aaron came to thewedding today. He asked me to give you his blessing. He wanted to thank you for taking care of himfor so many years. He said that meeting you was the biggest blessing he'd ever received in his life."

Yana got caught up in her thoughts for a moment.

After a long time, she replied, "I'll be lying if I say I don't hate him, but I'm still thankful of having methim. If I hadn't met him, I wouldn't be where I am now. He is the reason that I became the person Iam today. If he hadn't brought me to Jarold City, I would've stayed at the border all my life, like therest of the women in the war. I'd either die in the wild, or fall victim to uncouth men. Arianna, pleasehelp me thank hime. I don't regret meeting him, and I don't regret falling in love with him. I sincerelyhope that he finds his own happiness in the future. He deserves to be happy."

I took a deep breath, nodded, and said with a smile, "I will definitely pass on your message. Youdeserve to be happy as well."novelbin

I bade her farewell and got into the car. It was Evan who came to pick us up. Looking at Hendrixsitting beside me, I suddenly felt a little sentimental.

Since when did our ambitions and dreams for the future get replaced with a simple goal: to spendthe rest of our life with the right person?

Maybe after reaching a certain age, all we wanted in life was nothing more than peace and stability.

"What are you thinking about?" Hendrix asked, gently putting his hand on top of mine. His hand wasreally warm. I looked up at him, smiled, and answered, "I'm just wondering, is my husband getting

old?"
