Chapter 1423

He said disapprovingly, "Why are you so worried? She's a girl after all, all she has to do is to marrya guy next door. She is going to spend the rest of her life this way. You don't have to worry about it,this is her fate. I refuse to let you guys apply for her identification papers, so you can forget about it.If you insist, just send her back instead."

I really couldn't understand what was going on in his mind. After giving it some thought, I looked athim and said, "I will pay you another fifty thousand if you are willing to apply for Abby's identification.I can see that your son is about to start high school soon. Don't you want him to have a goodfuture? If he does well in his studies, I will offer him a job and he will become the pride of yourfamily."

Hearing this, he was tempted. He paused for a moment and uttered, "No, my daughters are born tobe sold for money..."novelbin

"Where is that b*tch? If I find her, I'm going to kill her myself!" We heard the sound of someonecursing coming through the air. After a moment, Laura burst into the house, looked at Gail and said,"Someone from the Parker family said that Susan had beaten someone to death and now she wasnowhere to be found. They are coming over here for compensation!"

Gail stood up abruptly, "Beaten someone to death? Who died?"

"Who else can it be? It's the fool that she married. Close the door. They are coming here to stir uptrouble," said Laura as she locked the door.

Gail frowned. A worried expression flashed across his face and his forehead was beaded withsweat. He murmured, "What should we do? Their son died and we had already used up all of themoney. What are we going to do?"

Seeing her husband in a panic, Laura was also anxious. She started to tear up and screamed,"Susan is trying to get us killed!"

I was a little taken aback. I thought that Susan would accept her fate, but who would have expectedher to kill her newlywed husband and flee. It seemed like I had underestimated this young lady'sdetermination to leave.

The commotion outside was getting louder and closer. Then, a crowd of people gathered at the frontyard armed with batons, knives and various weapons. They shouted, "Gail, your daughter is amurderer! Come out! We want compensation for our son's life! Come out, or I'll burn your house

down!"

The people outside must have been the parents of the deceased. They kept repeating the entiresituation over and over. I pretty much understood what actually happened.

The deceased was named Max Parker. He was mentally retarded. He was in his thirties, but he hadyet to marry a wife. Thus, his parents offered ten thousand to whoever was willing to marry theirson. It just so happened that Susan's parents heard about this and offered up their eldest daughter.Initially, she was supposed to give birth to his children, but she started a ruckus just as she movedin. She accidentally murdered Max and so everyone in his family came here to stir up trouble.

Hearing that they wanted him to compensate for their loss, Gail was so frightened that he startedtrembling. His lips turned pale and he seemed anxious.

Laura kept asking him, "What should we do? We've spent all the money. Where are we supposed tofind more money to compensate them? Susan is such a b*tch. She is trying to get us killed."
