Chapter 1416

The elderly man looked at me and said with a smile, "No, I can't. Don't underestimate this place. There are a lot of cars coming and going in a day. The boss had instructed that the cars outside arenot allowed in without his orders. I have to obey his orders. This place may look desolate, but it'sstill important for me to keep guard."

I asked curiously, "Why are they still guarding this abandoned factory? Are there still people workinginside?"

The old man shook his head and said, "I don't know. There are only a few designated cars whichcome here all the time. Those who are allowed to enter occasionally are informed in advance. It isreally strange because there isn't any working office in this factory, but these people always comeand go. I have gone in a few times and found nothing. I heard that the boss has set up a livebroadcast room here. Usually, there are some girls or children coming in to work, but I can't seethem clearly because I have bad eyesight."

I nodded slightly. It seemed that they were being extremely careful. On the surface, it seemed thatthey were using an inconspicuous elderly man to guard the factory. But in fact, they had very strictcontrol over the people who were allowed to enter and leave. This meant that very few outsidershad the chance to enter this place.

However, since I knew about this operating room, it would not be difficult for me to find out about therest.

Bobbie drove over and called me over. After getting into the car, I chatted briefly with him, but didn'tsay much.

It was already afternoon when I got back to town. My stomach was growling because I hadn't eatenfor a whole day. Perhaps, it was because I was pregnant. I walked into a restaurant and took out my

cell phone to call Hendrix after ordering my meal. This was when I realized that there were severalmissed calls on my phone.

It was my habit to switch my cell phone into silent mode when I was busy. I had missed some callsfrom Hendrix and Wendy.

Hendrix must have called to ask if I had eaten lunch. I felt that it wasn't anything important, so Idecided to call Wendy first.

Before I could dial her number, Hendrix called me. I answered the phone and said with a faint smile,"Mr. Roberts, I'm really flattered that you took the time to call me even though you are so busy."

He snorted and said, "You really know how to change the topic. It seems that you didn't eat on time. Why didn't you answer the phone just now? What were you doing?"

This man was getting more and more childish. I had to report my whereabouts to him at all timesnow.

I answered nonchalantly, "Haven't I told you? I had an appointment with Bobbie to go and take alook at the operating room. I just came back from there and arrived at the restaurant. Don't worry,I'm not starving our child."

He snorted indignantly, but didn't scold me, "Didn't I prepare breakfast for you this morning? Didn'tyou eat it?"

I touched my nose and said guiltily, "I ate them, but my stomach has taken care of them already. So,I'm going to eat more for lunch." I had left the house in a hurry in the morning, so I actually didn'thave time to eat the breakfast he made.novelbin

He sighed and felt a little helpless, "You are already a mother. You should learn how to take care ofyourself. Or do you want me to hire a nanny for you?"

I hurriedly refused, "There's no need for the time being. I'm currently only two months pregnant, so Ican still take care of myself. I'm really not used to having so many unfamiliar people at home. Let'sdiscuss this again after Anne gets better and I'm farther along in my pregnancy. What do you think?"
