Chapter 1312

After saying that, he set Eunice's gift down next to Charles, and then invited her to sit at the tableand looked at us as if nothing had happened. He said, "Why are you staring at us? Eat your food!"

I stared back at him nonchalantly. I got up and poured a glass of water for Charles. Then I said,"Uncle Charles, have a glass of water."

Charles took the water, the anger apparent on his face. He stared at Aaron with his sharp eyes as ifhe wanted to beat him up. Aaron didn't care at all.

He ate as if nothing had happened. It was a family dinner, and Eunice had shown up at the wrongtime, which was why Uncle Charles was angry. How could Aaron not know? He knew better thaneveryone else, yet he still did it.

I suppressed all my words and didn't speak.

After a while, the sound of the engine came again from outside. I was a little surprised. Was thereanyone else coming?

It was Yana and the housekeeper who came in. She came with the child. Hearing the noise, Charlesleft and took the child from the housekeeper. A smile appeared on his stern face.

"In the future, we will send a driver to pick you up.

It is not convenient to come over with a child after all." Charles spoke to Yana.

Yana's gentle voice came, "It's not far, just a few steps. I called you and asked you to eat firstinstead of waiting for me. Yet you still..."

Then she stopped mid- sentence, because her sight had fallen onto Eunice and Aaron. Obviously, she was very surprised.

However, it was only for a split second. She composed herself and the smile reappeared on herface. She looked at me and said, "Arianna and Mr. Roberts are also here. I left too late, and therewas a traffic jam along the way. I'm truly sorry for being late."

I shook my head with a smile. The child was taken away by the housekeeper.novelbin

Originally it was supposed to be a family dinner, but the atmosphere had suddenly become a littletense. Aaron acted like nothing happened and ate with his head down.

Eunice served the dishes to Aaron in a very natural manner, as if there was no one else here.

Yana didn't seem to have any expression. She chatted with Charles about how the child was doingand discussed the child's growth. She said that she was going to sign the child up for a sensorytraining class. Charles naturally agreed and told her to go ahead with it.

He also handed Yana a black card, asking her to buy whatever she needed. He told her that if thevilla she lived in now was unsuitable, she could move into a new one in the city center.

Eunice's gaze fell onto Yana a few times, but her expression was very calm. She had probablygotten a lot of money from Aaron. Aaron didn't care much about money, so he was probably verygenerous to Eunice.

However, she was still envious of Charles' black card.

During the meal, everyone felt uneasy. It was definitely not a light- hearted family dinner asoriginally planned. Yana went to feed the child, and I asked the servants to distract Eunice while Itook Aaron to the backyard.

I said, in a bad mood, "Aaron, are you out of your mind? Why did you bring Eunice here at thistime?"

He shrugged his shoulders and leaned against the wall. With his hands in his pockets, he looked atme and said, "She’s my girlfriend, can't I bring my girlfriend along? This is a family gathering. Shewill become my family sooner or later. What are you afraid of?"

I looked at him and felt a little speechless. "Are

you serious?"

He nodded. "I'll marry whoever I want in the end. What's wrong with Eunice? She's pretty, and herfamily background is simple, not so complicated. If I marry her, at least she won't have the guts tomess around with me."
