Chapter 1296

I looked over curiously and saw a boy in his twenties with flowers in his arms. He was kneeling onone knee with an expectant look on his face. It seemed that he was proposing to a girl.

Due to my curiosity, I pulled Hendrix closer and saw the girl who was standing in front of the boy. Itwas Estella. I was right when I said that girls in their twenties were already very beautiful at theirage.

She seemed to be shy and blushing. Probably because she was surrounded by a large crowd, shestood awkwardly and said quickly to the boy who was down on one knee, "Vincent, let's go backand talk about this first. Let's go!"

She tried to pull the boy away, but there was a difference between the strength of men and women. The boy seemed to have made up his mind that he wanted a successful proposal. His face was fullof longing when he looked at her and said, "Stella, I really like you. Just say yes, I promise I'll begood to you in the future."

The people around him cheered and chanted, "Say yes, say yes..."

Estella forced a smile. She appeared to be more embarrassed rather than shy now. She glancedaround and her gaze fell onto me. She paused for a moment, then looked at the boy and said,"Vincent, I don't understand. You clearly know that I don't like you, and I won't say yes. Why are youstill lying to yourself here? Not only do I tell you that I don't love you, but I don't even have anyfeelings for you, so please leave. Please don't use this public proposal to pressure me, okay?"

No one had expected a romantic proposal to turn into such a farce. The audience seemed to quietdown, and some people even left noiselessly.

Kneeling on the ground, the boy's face turned red from awkwardness and embarrassment.

"You didn't tell me this before." The boy opened his mouth, at a loss about what she had just said.novelbin

Estella looked at him, "Then what should I say? I thought my rejection to you was obvious enough. Why can't you see it?"

The boy suddenly lowered his head feebly, and the colorful roses in his arms were twisted out ofshape. "Why? Is it because I'm not rich enough? Or am I..."

"It's not because of anything! It has nothing to do with whether you have money or ability. It's justbecause I don't like you. You can leave now, please, don't embarrass me again in the future." In mymind, Estella had always been a lively and attractive girl, but I was very surprised to see this otherside of her.

I dragged Hendrix out of the lobby and said with a sigh, "I've never received any proposals like this, not even during my college years. But it seems that this only works if you're dating the right person.Young people are impulsive and romantic. In fact, it's quite pleasing."

Hendrix gently tugged on my wrist and asked, "What's pleasing about this?"

Looking at his handsome face, I said with a smile, "Of course, it's the passionate, impulsiveromanticism of a young man. Ever since I've been getting older, I feel like I'm losing passion in life."

He stopped and came face to face with me. He raised his eyebrows and asked, "Are you sayingthat I'm old?"

I seriously suspected that Hendrix was having a midlife crisis.

I put my hand against my forehead and said, "That's not what I meant. What I was trying to say isthat young people are lively and enthusiastic, and they are very motivated. We should learn fromthem. We can't live life forever in low spirits. Don't misunderstand what I'm trying to say."
