Chapter 1283

He handed me the black tie in his hand. The meaning was obvious. He wanted me to tie it for him."I'll worry about you if you're here alone. You come with me. Dahlia has just been released from thepolice station. You're not safe!"

I was confused. "She almost killed me. Why did they let her out after just one night? Is there nojustice?"

He pursed his lips and said, "There's no substantial action, so it's impossible to determine the actualcrime. She would be released after 12 hours."

I almost spit out a mouthful of blood. What did he mean by no substantial action? "There was amurder attempt, and the police were all at the scene of crime at that time. How can they say thatthere was no evidence? Are they waiting for someone to turn up dead before arresting her?"novelbin

Every time I thought about the hospital and that time where I was almost frozen to death, I couldn'tcontain my anger. All of these past incidents were evidence of her crimes.

Hendrix held my hand in his. His hands were warm. He took my trembling hand and said, "Shefound someone at the police station and was bailed out. When my people arrived, it was already toolate."

"Who bailed her out?" Wasn't her hometown in a small county? Tina said that Dahlia had no friendsin the city. Who could have bailed her out?

"Oscar Hathaway!" Hendrix pulled me downstairs and asked me to wait for him on the side of theroad. He went to reverse the car out.

Oscar? Linda's ex-husband, Oscar?

Hendrix brought out the car and I got in. I looked at him and said, "How did that man get involvedwith Dahlia? He even went to bail her out. Aren't they just business acquaintances?"

Hendrix looked at me. His gaze was gentle and somewhat helpless. He asked, "Have you carefullyobserved Dahlia?"

His question made me a little confused. I looked at him and saw him smiling. "When Dahlia wasyoung, she had a complicated relationship with Oscar. She sold high-end coffee beans, and wasinvolved with Oscar. But all of that ended after her coffee house closed. However, they have been incontact for so many years, so as you can see, their relationship is not as simple as you think!"

I remembered that when I was in Myanway, Dahlia told me that she owned two houses and aMercedes-Benz when she was in her twenties. She also had several million dollars in total if shetotalled the worth of both her coffee shops. If she was from a rich family, it was understandable howa girl in her early twenties could own so many things. However, on second thought, there seemed tobe a lot of unknown factors about this.

I looked at Hendrix, waiting for him to continue. He paused for a moment and said, "She and Oscarprobably still have something going on, and they must have kept contact. It is not going to be easyto separate them."

I was not stupid. After listening to these words, I roughly understood that Dahlia's relationship withOscar was not simple. Looking carefully at Dahlia's features, her nose had collapsed and her chinwas a little crooked. It may have been caused by plastic surgery that happened more than ten yearsago. If there was no maintenance, it would become deformed.

It made a lot of sense for her to be associated with Oscar in the past.

"Did Oscar help her with what happened yesterday?" He was the only one I could think of.

Hendrix, who was driving, pondered for a while and said, "That's unlikely. He won't get involved inthis matter. He won't get himself in trouble like this."
