Chapter 1256

"Hendrix, I'm here. Wake up, don't fall asleep, please don't fall asleep!" I spoke. After that, Iremoved my coat and put it on him. I covered his body with my own and tried to warm him up.

He didn't respond. I wanted to lift him up, but he seemed to be unconscious. He couldn't escapewith me at all. I carried him and moved toward the door.

I said to Mr. Lawson, "Mr. Lawson, I've found the cold storage room. Hendrix is in it and he isunconscious. Come save us!"

Bang! The door of the cold storage room was abruptly slammed shut. I stood motionless. At themoment, I realized that something was wrong. The temperature in the room suddenly plummeted.

A bone-chilling cold surrounded me and pervaded me in all directions.

Holding onto Hendrix, I spoke into the headset over and over again. Nevertheless, the connectionseemed to be interrupted, so I couldn't get in touch with Mr. Lawson.

The temperature of Hendrix's body dropped lower and lower and his body seemed to have becomestiff. I hugged him tightly and repeated over and over again, "Hendrix, don't fall asleep. I'm Arianna.I'm here for you. Don't fall asleep. Otherwise, I'll be angry. You can't fall asleep!"

When people were in fear, they had no idea how to control themselves and be rational. I spoke toHendrix again and again, but he didn't say a word to me. I started to become cold and anxious.

As I stayed with him in the cold storage room, the damp regions began to freeze gradually, andeven the water vapor in the air began turning into frost.

I could feel my own body starting to become stiff as well. Hendrix's body was even stiffer. I rubbedhis hand over and over again, trying to talk to him with my mouth. Tears froze on my face and theice shards poked at me.

There was still no movement outside, but Hendrix's body had reached its limit. I was a littleoverwhelmed. I trembled and cried, holding Hendrix tightly. I didn't know what I was talking aboutanymore at this point.

I had already been stuck in a freezer once before, so I was more afraid of the cold than ever. Mybody even twitched uncontrollably as my reactions became stronger. All of a sudden, I heardHendrix's voice, "Let her go. I'll sign it!"

These were the only words I heard from Hendrix ever since I came in. I tried hard to open my eyesand look at him, but parts of my body had already frozen.

The door of the cold storage room opened. The person who came in was none other thanSebastian himself. He was in a dark red suit and looked as charming as ever. He had a faint smileon his face.

I stared at him. Even though I already had my suspicions, seeing him appear now still came as ashock. I couldn't accept that he would treat us so cruelly.

"Give me the contract. I'll have to trouble you, Mr. Roberts!" he said. The first sentence was to hissubordinates while the second was obviously to Hendrix.

I looked at Sebastian and said incredulously, "How can you do this?"

Sebastian looked at me and curled his lips. His faint smile was as gentle as ever. "Arianna, I have tothank you for this matter. Otherwise, Mr. Roberts would rather freeze to death than sign thiscontract," he said.

He placed the contract in his hand in front of Hendrix and looked at him with a grin. "Mr. Robertsreally does love Miss Reid very much. You'd endured and kept silent in the cold for dozens of hours.novelbin

However, you chose to make a compromise after Miss Reid arrived. You have really taught meabout the meaning of true love," he continued.

"B*stard!" I looked at him and couldn't help shouting. Hendrix's body was already stiff, and hecouldn't open his eyes. If it weren't for me, he would have already fainted by now.
