Chapter 1248

I was so furious that I glared at him. In my mind, I had already cursed him a hundred times. I didn'twant to talk to him anymore. I angrily went up to the second floor and sat there alone, sulking.

The sound of something being smashed came from downstairs. Tobias was really an odd person. Icovered myself with a blanket, ignoring him.

After lying for a long time, my stomach growled. I didn't eat much all day. I thought I could have ameal at Yulia's place, but it was unexpectedly ruined by the lunatic Tobias.

I hesitated for a moment, before going downstairs to get something to eat. If I continued to starve, Imight lose sleep at night.

In the kitchen, Tobias' nanny was not there. Fortunately, there were a lot of fruits and vegetables inthe refrigerator. I looked around and ended up cooking a bowl of noodles.

However, Tobias came before I could even sit down to eat. He wasn't even aware that he was notwanted there, and proceeded to eat the noodles I had just cooked. My blood was boiling.

I glared at him, almost shouting at him. "Tobias, can you be more shameless than this? I cookedthis bowl of noodles and I haven't even eaten it yet. That's enough!"novelbin

He ate a few mouthfuls of noodles as if nothing had happened. Then he looked at me and said,"The ingredients belong to me. Can't I eat them?"

I was speechless. I watched as he enjoyed the bowl of noodles. If it weren't for the fact that Icouldn't hit him, I would have given him a good beating.

However, I was living under his roof. There was nothing I could do.

I cooked another bowl for myself. After Tobias finished eating his noodles, he stared at me with aserious face. I was puzzled. Looking at him, my eyes twitched as I covered my bowl of noodles. Ithen looked at him and said, "Tobias, you've already eaten. This is mine."

He looked at me, his eyes cold. "Just eat. Stingy."

After that, he went straight upstairs. I watched him leave, and still felt that he was a really oddperson.

However, I didn't say much.

After eating my bowl of noodles, I cleaned up. It was already dark. Three or four hours had passed.I had no clue what happened to Hendrix, and Sheridan hadn't called yet.

I waited for some time, holding my phone tightly. I couldn't wait anymore, so I dialed a number. However, before the call could get through, another call came in.

It was Sheridan.

I answered the call. Without waiting for the person on the other end of the line to say anything, Isaid, "Mr. Lawson, have you found it? How's Hendrix?"

He hesitated for a moment and said, "Miss, the information we found is that those people didn't takeMr. Roberts away that night. Instead, they took Mr. Roberts somewhere nearby and killed him afterasking some questions. You'd better go back to the police station to take a look at the body. It couldreally be Mr. Roberts."

Suddenly, the world was spinning. I looked around; everything was spinning. I even began to seedouble. Tears rolled down my cheeks and into my mouth; it tasted salty. "But how is that possible?" Ithought to myself.

"Mr. Lawson, that body isn't Hendrix. There must be a mistake. No, nothing happened to Hendrix. Those people might be lying to you. Investigate it again, okay? Nothing happened to Hendrix." Irepeatedly recalled the image of the body. It really wasn't Hendrix. I couldn't have mistaken it.

Mr. Lawson said helplessly, "Miss, I know you are not willing to accept it, but I have caught thosepeople who took Mr. Roberts away that night. If you really don't want to accept it, you can ask themyourself."
